A Tale Of Three Buildings

If it doesn't require a major forest location, then what is the point of being a wood elf? Some of the homes in Laurelin fit well with theme of how most of the elves lived in many fantasy worlds, well, the homes from the front to the middle would be a good representation.

I could see this being used for more pseudo-wood elven stuff, like it being used in the current high elf nation, but for something that pertains mainly to wood elves. If there is any form of stone outside of benches or something on or inside a wood elven home, it is not a true home. If there are no trees even being used within the infrastructure, it isn't true either.

You don't always need major forest either, with how things are now, it is perfectly viable to create a mainly tree like wood elven nation. This kinda stuff just isn't going to work for how wood elves should be playing as. They are more in tuned with the forest around them than the other subraces, so it goes to show that just slapping nature inside of a home that man made, isnt really a true home for them.

That is my view on it.

Though, I understand your view with it being more of a human style. With how time advances, I can see it becoming a viable option in the future, but honestly, I just see like keeping wood elves with more forest around them, it matches their character. Also, most wood elven homes would be blending in with the landscapes as well.

I agree with Delta. Wood Elves are Wood Elves. They, of all the Elves, are closest connected to nature.

Dryads being a rather extreme form among 'em.

So, here ya have my view on what a Wood Elven Home's 'supposed' to look like.

As ya can see.. There isn't much 'structure'. It's mostly trees. Even the lil' canopy on top is supported by the branches.

I believe there's also some sort of distinction, between Elves whom like sleeping down below, close to the muddy earth and the fallen leaves and those whom prefer sleeping high up between the branches. So, I added a sleeping place for either.

That glowstone is too damn pretty. What texture pack do you use spamshok?

Chromahills + SEUS. Apparently Chromahills was made with shaders in mind so they go together pretty well.

I like that a lot Cirdan. For the more lazy, you can just plop a bunch of trees together, hollow out the inside, plug holes with wood, and you have an elven version of a hovel so to speak. Or for canopy wise stuff, you can just do the platform thing and just build on the top to make it look bulbous.

Other than dwarves, elves have the second laziest way of building homes in my opinion.
