[!] UPDATE [!]

The first event, previously known as 'The Ent', has been swapped to a more creative event!
I'll also most likely be switching out event #2 and prettying up #1

Meta has deemed this topic worthy of his opinion, let us begin with the events!

Event 1: The Tunnel

This event is a very strong way to start off, using old lore that was accepted but never seen to demonstrate the knowledge of unused lore by you Epic. From the smallness of the party I can assume this is largely an event catered to a run-away event to avoid being killed by the creatures. The loot is a wonderful idea to reward the players especially those that survive and the 'surprise' second beast will challenge the players on using their abilities in creative ways to make it to the goal end.

Some aspects I can recommand for this event is detailing more on the tunnel end, this is a WONDERFUL area you can truly paint out the taste of the event to make it worthy of remembering. Now many characters are armed to the teeth with various gear and other assortments might be tempted to fight the beast. HOwever, what if...-

---------------------------------------------------------------------

"Is it gone...?"  Richard's tone would betray the fear settled in his heart, eyes jumping to the shadows in the tunnel. The sudden silence from the beast only seemed to be the eye of the storm as the party would take out torches to cast a soft light into the musky tunnel. Taking a few shivering steps, a steel blade nested into his hands with a tight grip. "C-Come on I think thi-"

Suddenly the cave would shake as the very ground beneath their feet started to crumble and crack apart. Richard's eyes would open in shock as part of the cave would collasped, and his grip on the blade shaken loose by the vibrations would slip through his palms...down the tunnel along with the torches.

Weaponless...

Lightless...

The party had no weapons...no light...and the beast was still on the hunt.

They could only run.

----------------------------------------

Now you've challenge the party to survive without weapons or light, they would have to run and escape and possibly solve mini-puzzels to open passages. This could be things like loosening rocks as the creature chases them down the tunnel. IT could also be actual traps created by /worshipers of the dragons/ to prevent someone from entering their santurary ((Would explain unnatural lights to help set the mood)) At the end of the tunnel when the party has reached the second sea dragon which can have been aiding in the attack by causing earthquakes ((Jumping to the surface, smashing head against the ceiling to cause the ground to shake)) They can spot their weapons near the "exit" enticing a focus point instead of "WHERE DO I GO....WHAT DO I DO!"

This helps DRIVE where the players will go without you telling them "Go here" "Go there." Use the lighting to help guide the players down the passageway, then their weapons to help give them a goal. THis also gives a foreshadowing that the "earthquakes" might not be natural...or might be the cause of something else chasing after them

Without weapons, the party will feel the fear and NEED to run away. Mages won't have time to focus, and warriors can't make a foolish stand.

IT's run or be killed, and the serpents are fine with either....

((Party Size is about right, personally this sounds like a small event. I'd say keep it small, ten people is very likely some need to /die/.

---------------------------------------

Event Two: Ancient Atheran Tomb

Alright let's hit on the great points of this event, it's a tomb raider event short and sweet. Puzzles sound fun and this seems more related to the thinkers, not the warriors. That's a GREAT way to make it not about who can use martial arts to defeat the zombies, or who has the fire magic to destroy the locust. This is about brain power, AWESOME :D

The rest however...is eh, boring, and lacks anything that seems to come together to provide lore or fun. The concept is great but this current execution lacks driving power behind it.

You have a wonderful base "Team Puzzle Solving" that is your bread and butter. That is your focus point, USE IT

Imagine a pully system over a trap system that required the team to make a choice....Solve the puzzle fully to get everyone through, or sacrifice a team by leaving them behind and save time...OH and by the way the ceiling is caving in so....Better think fast ;)

Or imagine a maze that opening certain doors closed others, leaving the team to have to sit down and work together to open the maze. This one wouldn't have a rush more requiring teamwork from everyone to get the right combo going for the door.

What you can do with requiring a team to coordinate together is endless, and this is what will make the event better. There is no "One Man Army," and anyone who tries to act that way would be "removed".

Then...you throw away the idea for a random piece of unused lore, NO NO NO NO NO NO NO -

((SEveral hours later))

No....COme on man you have a beauitful event lore idea. Use that! Now I know you said you want orcs, here's a great place to butter it up instead. Have the spirit be accidently released by the party, and require a TEAM effort of finding the incantation or whatever it was that was holding onto the spirit to reseal it. This allows the team to either dictate some people to holding the spirit off while others try to solve the puzzle....however if one dies someone will have to go replace their position.

This is a GREAT way to use any lore, by utelizing the lore of your "Tomb" to actively force players to think of how it's best to engage it.

"Do we send everyone but one person to hold off the spirit and decode the puzzle? Would they be able to survive long enough against it's onslaught?

"Do we send only one or two people to hold off the spirit who are our strongest fighters in an attempt to decode faster?"

No matter what party you send, you WILL get different results. Do they attempt to solve all the puzzles fully to try to save everyone, or does greed cause them to leave some people behind in an attempt to get to the end faster...

Perhaps....the faster they get to the tomb the easier the final fight? ;) Riskes and Rewards.

Also I personally say bring the number way down, take the number beat it with a stick till it stops moving. Small event to coordinate better teamwork, a big party is just going to get lost and have people emoting all over the place

--------------------------------------------------------

Event Three: The Hook of an Ibless Cultist

Alright...this one drops the ball on all accords. Who is it aimed at, what is the 'fun'...where is the lore? Is it a mystery solving? A guard hunt? I don't know....You need to rework this in so many accords, this event showcases NONE of your strengths.

To me I literally was thinking that it sounded like some /edgy/ person out for revenge. It lacks depth or a focal point to build a character and say "Man do you remember THAT TOMB? Do you remember that cavern with the dragons?!"

"Remember the guy who burned the church down...?"

Look back, which one of these events would be memorable, which wouldn't be. This is the one I believe you need to rework into what you said your strengths were....Lore AND Orcish RP

If you want a serious review of this one, I will but honestly I say discard it and leave it where it fell.

------------------------------------------------

Overall

You're events have beauitful bases, but lack indepth execution tailored to your strengths. I fail to see where your events will inspire your TRUE knowledge of lore and fun to make the event memorable. Each one fails to carry a sense of what you are aiming for each event.

Event 1: Fear and Flee event

Event 2: Team Puzzle Solving

Event 3: ....?

You want to build your event on a focus point, allowing you to know what needs to be added/removed to make the event better. From there you want to engage the player with LORE, and not this unused monster crap I'm seeing now. I want to see ancient history, ancient languages, feel like I'm actually in a tomb and not in Final Fantasy game with mimic's.

The TRUE reward of the event should be the experience, even if there wasn't loot at the end.

~ SNIP ~

Meta, I love you to death for this man. Thank you for the criticism, and I understand haha. I know these events weren't delved into 100%, but that's because I know that they're subjected to change and will be swapped. Thanks mate c: +1111

The Event Team Application has been updated. Please ensure that your event scenarios fit into the current lore of LOTC. This means that a random force, race, or antagonist is frowned upon.
