Olog, Orog, Ogre Rp Guide

Recommended Posts

I can easily say, that an Olog is one of the most fun side characters to play. In my opinion, these giant beasts are not well suitable for a player's main character, or for a player's first character. But, let's just get right to it...

1.) Introduction:

Like I said, Ologs are extremely fun to play. But I've unfortunately been seeing players RP Ologs... oddly. I don't want to tell you how to RP your character, but some people are RP'ing Ologs just wildly. I've seen Ologs that would blush at Elf Females... Yeah...

Again, if that's how you wanna' roll, so be it. But it's just not how Ologs are supposed to be played. They're supposed to be giant, ugly beasts. That seem to be primarily placed on the world to eat and kill.

2.) Life Style:

Personality:

Ologs are a sub-race of the Orcs. Also known as orogs or ogres, ologs are the largest of the orcish subraces. Huge, going from 9 feet to 12 feet, dull-witted towers of flesh, fat, and muscle, ologs are slow-witted and primitive. Ologs are incapable of thinking without speaking their thoughts, possess very limited vocabularies, and are said to have only three emotions, hunger, happiness and rage.

As it states, like I've described, Ologs are massive beasts of gluttony and destruction. They are hungry most of the time, and will do anything necessary to find food/nourishment. Since they are incredibly stupid, and are incapable of thinking without speaking their thoughts, if they were encountered by humans or such, they would say something like "Mi eat zharuhz... hurhurhur". Something Olog those lines. (( Get it? Olog those lines? Huehue ))

And no, they seem to be very incapable of love towards any living being...

Life Style: Messy, gross, you name it. Just like their Orcish brethren, if their body needs to do some sort of action ( Eat, or 'use the bathroom' ) they'll get it done very simply. They have very little, to no care, for politeness, self image, exposure, or decency. If they must use the bathroom, their entire camp seems suitable. If they must eat, just pickup a fawn and eat it.

They see absolutely no need to shower, and their clothing would be something as simple as a loin cloth. It's quite common to see a large amount of flies swarm around the Olog, due to it being very unkempt, etc.

They can be quite lazy at times, due to them either being too full, or just too tired from a hard day of Olog work...

Religion: They're too stupid to even have a point of view, usually.

Education: None at all, they usually pick up eating and hunting by instinct and such. Their vocabulary is incredibly vague and can probably be about... 50 words, and that's pushing it. Due to them being incredibly stupid, it is easy for some people to trick these giant beasts. They get confused very easily, and sometimes they can go into a rage due to frustration.

2.) Technology/Items:

Weapons: Everyone's favorite. Their choice of weapon is something massive, and very simple to use. For instance, a bone club of some sort. They're very rarely seen to use weapons such as swords and axes. Since they have large muscles, and blunt weapons are very simple to use, why not use 'em?

Armor: Ologs usually never wear armor, if at all. It would take an incredible blacksmith to even create armor for these giant beasts, and probably an even more skilled beast tamer to have them not pick at it / take it off. Ologs prefer being able to move, and hate being being binded down by anything. Due to Ologs having very thick skin it's hard to inflict massive damage on these beasts. Also them being incredibly stupid, they may even laugh at their pain.

Homes: Let the Orcs worry about it, but they usually reside in giant blargs or sometimes even caves.

Crafting/Building: They can build you a very nice mountain of bones... that's about it....

3.) Conclusion:

Really, I believe I've covered almost everything... There's really not too much to cover about this race, they're quite simple to RP, but you just need to be on the right track. Again, this race, I believe, seems more suitable for a side character, and not anyone's main, first character or anything. I would've gone a lot more in depth and everything but... there just isn't too much to cover unfortunately, because this is one of the most funnest races to just mess around on.

4.) Q/A:

Unfortunately no questions at the moment...

Please Comment ANY questions you have on this amazing race! Any input/comments are welcome, comment away!

You added how they don't have much thoughts or education (vocabulary, religion and etc.) but you may want to add that they are extremely easy to deceive if a halfling played his cards right, he may be able to get an olog to run away or walk off getting bored. Etc. Not to mention that their sheer size makes it so that RPing them being sluggish and lazy would makes sense.

Also, you forgot to insert their biggest weakness: DOORS

Ologs simply can't fit in a door unless they were to bust down the wall surrounding the door.

EDIT: +1 as an ex-olog (who is about to be brought back) I am very thankful for this guide, thanks for going out of your way to make this.

Reading the words "hurhurhur." Always gets me'a laughin'.

The words of Gleb, Spirits rest his soul, are heard within your mind from the grave...

"Hurhurhurhurhurhurhurhur"

*Sniffle*, what an elegant piece of poetry...

Because Ologs are 2x the size of a human, they have 4x the brain size and 4x the processing power so they are 4x as smart as any human.  Please do not be racist.

Actually if you weigh their weight (get it weigh their weight? haha) and size along with muscle mass, they are about the size of 4 humans (so yeah, Ologs rule).

Think of it this way: It takes two humans to be even with an Uruk, and it takes two Uruks (give or take) to effectively balance the scale with an Olog, thus, it takes four humans to be equal to an olog.

Am I the only one slightly bothered that people are sort of downplaying the stupidity of their Ologs? Being like 9-15 feet tall is powerful enough T.T

I might just make an Olog. You might want to add how tall they normally are, and how much they weigh generally. Unless that's already in and I missed it :P

Also might want to add they can't learn Shamanism, or any sort of magic, considering they'd be too impatient/stupid to actually try and perform magic.
