Stag 3234 Share Posted September 28, 2014 *~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~* * Kalenz Uradir is formally discharged from the position of Maheral and Lucion Sullas is formally regranted the title. One would argue that it was never within the Mr.Uradir's power to grant himself the title. Lucion Sullas is a beacon of pure silver. We will continue to look to him as an example to all mali'aheral. * Shops for now do not require the 150 elven weekly tax to rent. Should you wish for a shop simple post a notice on that shop and a member of the Hieal'thilln will inform you of it's approval or denial. * The Hieal'thilln is experimenting with a new innkeep. A halfling by the name of Lotho is taking care of the matters in the inn. He should be treated with respect. A board game room has also opened in the lower section of inn. * Abusive behavior towards our allies or kin will not be tolerated. Should you be found violating this you shall be firmly removed. * Holy magic is now sanctioned within the city. * Magic users known as shades are to either remove themselves from the city or cleanse the shade from their bodies. It is reminded that the use of dark magic within Haelun'or is forbidden. ~ Sohaer Iatrilemar Elervathar ~ *~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~*

Birdwhisperer 1174 Share Posted September 28, 2014 Elorna nods silently as she reads over the list, though a faint frown is evident on her features. A non-descript woman hanging back in the shadows scans over the notice idly, lingering over a certain paragraph. She taps her chin with a contemplative smirk, then wanders off, humming to herself. Demotheus 651 Share Posted September 28, 2014 "Does this mean that Lotha can come into the city and do things and perhaps do business there and what not so long as she does not rub the fact that she is part dwarf in other's faces?" Says Lotha.

Sporadic 2844 Share Posted September 28, 2014 "One would sooner argue it is not up to the Sohaer to unravel a tradition and appoint as Maheral one of his or her own choosing," Ellir begins to protest. "The Maheral is elected by succession and not by the agenda of an all-too-ambitious leadership figure."
Stag 3234 Author Share Posted September 28, 2014 "While I would agree Ellir in this case Uradir is the one that created the system where Sohaer became Maheral after their term. I simply do not wish for my future children or any other mali'aheral children to learn from someone like Kalenz Uradir. Therefore intervention was required, no? Ambition is what we need. However we do not need aggressive ambition. We need ambition to create a caring and educational enviroment. Something we cannot achieve with Uradir as Maheral. Futhermore I am not appointing the Maheral. I am merely saying Lucion Sullas was never removed from the position. "

Oddly enough, the passage of Maheral was determined by referendum... I ponder why he has such a faulty memory".

Malaise 1570 Share Posted September 29, 2014 "To remove the Maheral- A beacon of purity and the valuable conservative mindset we must so vigorously pursue, without consulting the children of Silver? A move most unwise. I fear the coming age of Sohaer Elervathar."
Sporadic 2844 Share Posted September 29, 2014 "Who introduced the succession of Maheralan is irrelevant. Kalenz' system is unbiased since it applies to all who would be eligible. Your appointment (or, have it your way, veto of appointment; the technicalities matter not for the incumbent Maheral is not for the Sohaer to either prevent or effect) is an exception for want of personal convenience. Bending the rules of tradition for Uradir brings no benefit except for those who fear what the Naysayer might have to say. Weak is the Sohaer who dare not face his detractors in debate." CosmicWhaleShark 2488 Share Posted September 29, 2014 "Sohaer Iatrilemar Elervathar has recognized that the system mali'aheral have is no longer as efficient as it may have perhaps been. In my experience the mali'aheral naysayer lacks the capacity to even imagine what one of something as rudimentary as darker skin can accomplish. We have found problems with the previous system and voiced them far before you, we at one point were the naysayers ourselves, and Iatrilemar seems to be trying to listen but is apparently forced to take slow and cautious steps to meet us in the middle, because of people like you. Mr. Sullas has never ordered myself or others to execute children nor have I had to defend anyone but Mr. Uradir from something as ridiculous as a cleric. He was an wicked man that was losing his mind, he had even mistaken me for one of you mali'aheral in disguise. If you would forsake your nation and disregard these alarming signs for the sake of tradition then I would wager you are just as mad as Mr. Uradir."
MrSyth 637 Share Posted September 30, 2014 Silvos grunts, sighs and hesitates visibly. He turns to Iatrilemar."With all due respect, my dear llir and Sohaer, but these measures... Allowing holy magic? Absolute nonsense. The Mali'aheral society has already plainly denied its acclaimed source of power, it'd be absurd to allow it now. And reinstating a Maheral without so much as consulting a council on the matter... That is plain dictatorship. I cannot stand for this, Iat. Although I believe you have good intentions, I cannot condone these choices."He then turns and walks away. "Van'ayla, Iatrilemar. Crua'evar, Sohaer Elervathar."ws
