AlphaDominae 6 Share Posted October 10, 2014 Hello all, my name is Alpha, and I'm currently hoping I'm not going to get in trouble for this... I haven't applied to the server yet... don't worry I have every intention of applying, I just wanted to get a bit of help first. Not help with rules or how to make a character or stuff... let me explain. I love roleplay. I have loved roleplay since I was 12 and I started up on old forum roleplays. Even before then I was doing written roleplay. But something I've found more and more as I start getting into the world of online roleplay is that it's pretty hard to get into the roleplay when you're by yourself. I know that personally I feel really shy and nervous, and I don't know where I would fit or where my character would. Now sure, I could just join up and search and roleplay to figure out where I fit... but I've tried that before on other roleplays and I've found that I give up before I find a place, and I don't really want to do that with LOTC. So, I have a proposition. I understand that my character has to be 18 in my application, but I would like to ask that my 18 year old (or whatever year old) character be melded into someone's family somewhere. I feel like if I could have a group when I start out, it would help me already have a place, have someone to go to with simple questions I wouldn't want to bother staff for, as well as race and culture based questions, and I would have something to base my currently unformed character on. I believe it would really help my experience on LOTC, and help me to feel more welcome from the start. Some things about my potential character that are musts. For one, I like playing things that are more unique. Not in the magical sense or like being the best at something, but things that should be fairly common, but people don't usually play. Like Dwarf women. I would enjoy playing a dwarf woman. Or an orc woman. It can be profession based too, like an orkish bard or something. Something that wouldn't be unique if this was a real world, but is because people don't usually do it. So long as that is understood, I'm completely open to suggestions. If there's some unwritten rule I didn't know about or missed about not posting until you have been accepted, I'm very sorry for breaking it. I just really like the lore of LOTC and I would like to be able to enjoy my time and not be so nervous... 6 Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

Being such a randomly selected group we have people who know about pretty much any kind of lore, and if you played anything other than an orc you'd be able to hang out with us in game to get your bearings. (Even if it was only for a while until you made a character you liked better. We won't judge.) JVQ 1719 Share Posted October 10, 2014 If you are interested in playing a Dwarf, you can normally fit right in to a clan. I personally am in the Ireheart clan, we need all sorts of professions to help us function so if you were interested in playing a lumberjack, woodworker, fisher, farmer, chef dwarf etc etc, the just hit me up with a pm. Fimlin 1997 Share Posted October 10, 2014 If a Dwarf is in fact your fancy, the clans; Grandaxe, Ireheart, Irongut, Starbreaker ( the non traitor kind) and Irongrinder are always open, you can find the threads in Dwarven Roleplay > Dwarven Clans, you would be greatly valued there as each clan is open and willing to accept new members regardless of profession, backround, age, or experience. I'm going to shorten it a bit... I actually think being a dwarf would be a lot of fun, I'm just still not sure where I fit properly. Thanks for all the information. That will help a lot. I'm curious about the Ikuras cult... looking it UP I found a couple of forum posts but what is the cult exactly? To Caivs Marivs, that lore is fantastic! I only read the first part, but I noticed you have lore master as your title. Does that mean you do that all the time? Those were the main ones... but thank you to everyone for replying.
