Two Questions

Hello helpful people around the globe,

I have played on LotC before, stopped playing and now I am looking to get bac

As far as I am concerned, I can now (as a non-donator) only play as one character at a time.

Therefor, I am highly doubing what race fits me best.

I like the Halfling race, because they are peaceful and are known as farmers. However, as a Halfling, would it be logical to become a breeder? Because breeding is a mechanic I like very much, however I do not want to go against server lore.

Also, I like the Elves, but I am not really sure what Elves do, nor what all Elf subraces are and which one would fit me best.

Furthermore do dwarves seem fun to me, however I am unsure about them to, as far as subraces and living places go.

Last but not least, last time I was around there was quite some RP to find at Capital cities like Oren. Is this still the same? Are they still guarded by an (active) guard force, meaning laws are not just written lines but are actually enforced? And are there still "to go" places for newer players? (I will classify myself new again..)

Thanks for reading this draft,

Fabior.

High elves are peacefully living in Oren currently, since everywhere else people is trying to kill as "because high elf".

The darkies is to my (faint knowledge since I can't RP with them lately), chilling and other than militaristic patrols from the woodies, no idea.

As for the capitals' guards. Last time I was at the elven city, there was no guards, Petrus tends to have a few-quite a number of guards, al based on when you are online.

Not High elves, just Aheral. Plenty of normal high elves are living happily in the elven city.

Aheral is still 'because high elf' which is a quite I got twice. But yea, some high elves are seemingly fine.

I think we've met before actually... pst, skravia

If you want to work with a certain profession, you might want to look at the wiki for the racial stats/bonuses and look for one you like, and got a +% on the profession you'd like to work with. Then if you're not sure if you want to live with that certain race, there are places that have a mixed community. I'm up North and have my own Barony which is pretty much based on vikings/Northerners, we have both peaceful rp and military service(in a more brutal, viking like way) and although most of us are Highlanders(northerners) we accept any welcome any races really, sometimes it just depends on the characters alignment and position in the other nations.

Also, you have two character slots. So yay! :D (I have no opinion on races, sorry.)

Halflings - RPly? You can basically do whatever you want(aka, go ahead and be a breeder. That's farm-y enough for them). But I found that I easily got bored without having any friends to call upon. Though this may have changed, as it was back in 2013. You can have some pretty fun times with them anyways, as long as you aren't an Orc. Yay accents!

Elves - High Elves, Dark Elves and Wood Elves. Which to pick? Well.

Woodies, currently I'm not sure about. They seem to be spread out and/or low in number, or I just don't see them. But if you'd like an earthy, tanned little Elf go for it. They've always been the most flexible Elven subrace and can go in whatever direction job and character-wise.

Dark Elves have a large, pretty cavern under the Elven capital, complete with red crystals every which way. There's two ways to approach these guys. Firstly, you could do your best to create a character and then try to get into their guard. From there is mostly up to you. Or, you could try to get into a clan by seeing if they've got any open spots. There's plenty of benefits to this, and that's how I became a Darkie. This is a good guide on the more intricate details.

High Elves are residing (aside from a select few) in Aldersberg, Oren after being overthrown. They've set up a manor, and are still working on regrouping. A bit harder to enter due to lore but welcoming OOCly, I suggest looking at this if you're interested. Mithradites will keep you entertained and informed.

Dwarves - I don't entirely like Dwarves. But if you think you can read extremely thick accents, and want to go for that good old Dwarvish charm, hop in. They're pretty easy to get in with, as far as I know. Find a clan too, if you want. Don't forget your pickaxe. c=

Oren/capitals - I've not been to many of the capitals, but Oren seems to be doing well-off. Just have to be on at the right time. Guards do roam about in the form of Orenian soldiers, and you can find tavern RP around. A good spot. As for new players, I wouldn't know. Having joined in 2012.. I haven't been a new player for a while. Heheh. But there's a handful of taverns around the Oren/Elven areas that likely provide a good starting point.

As you can see, I'm more well-versed in the Elves. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful in the other races. Have fun picking! Message me if you wanna get in the High Elves or Dark Elves, I can make getting in a bit easier for you.

TL;DR:
Halflings are cool but make friends. You can be a breeder. Accents, yaay.

Wood Elves are extremely flexible, but scattered.

Dark Elves are cool. Being in a Dark Elf clan is cool but optional. Join the guard.

High Elves are racist, but awesome OOCly. Less flexible, non-military. Science, acid and magic.

Dwarves are sorta cool? Easy to get with. Join a clan, possibly. Really thick accents, kinda hard to understand sometimes.

Oren has some guards. Okay activity. Not sure about other capitals.

Aheral is still 'because high elf' which is a quite I got twice. But yea, some high elves are seemingly fine.

Aheral are an Extremist group of High Elves that developed shortly after Aegis, plenty of normal high Elves were around before that, during and now after. The reason people hate Aheral isn't because of a Racial level, it's because of the social level that the Aheral instigated in the first place with their ideals and extremist attitude towards other races. I.e. they got too big for their boots then ran out of steam and have now realised how much they've shot themselves in the foot here...

This is just putting it bluntly really.
