It had been before Tarcell was ordained when he had last seen battle. The screams of dying men, the smell of piss and s***, the sights of blood and gore, these sensations returned to him as he ran down the path to Angren. He had gotten a message that a fight was going on between the rebels of the Storm King and those of the Empire of Oren. "Why must it be greed that always takes men from the Faith?" Tarcell asked himself as he ran "Could humanity not see the truth?"

When he got there, he made his way through the barrage of arrows where Prince Aleksander Carrion was. The rebels had attacked a man who was patrolling the area, and a fight had broken loose. It seemed a stalemate had been reached when the High Pontiff Daniel I came to the battle. Dressed in his priestly robes with no armor, the High Pontiff walked to where the attackers were. Glancing up at the scene, he moved with Tarcell to the gate where they could speak. "Maric" called Tarcell "The High Pontiff wishes to speak wth you."

They were met with a chuckle and a reply "The Crow in Robes can take his business elsewhere. He is not welcomed in my castle." The exchange went on for a time with little result. It was not until Lucas Black, a shaman in service to the claimant king, spoke when things began to boil over.

"Quiet your tongues" yelled Lucas "Or they will be sacrificed to the Spirits for your insolence.

The Pontiff's worst fears were confirmed as Maric condoned the shaman's threats and accusations. With Maric casting a curious incantantion with his blade, the High Pontiff and Tarcell were forced to leave without accomplishing much, their lives at stake. It seemed those inside Angren did not care for the mother Church.

After this incident, posters are hung around Petrus for the safety of the citizens. They read as followed.

"To the Blessed Citizens of Oren,

The men in Angren have abandoned their Church to our great sadness. A papal envoy to the fort led by the Pontiff himself was met with threats and slander; Maric himself preparing a hex with lethal intent against the papal host. Greed and power have corrupted their leader's minds. No creation is wholly beyond saving, but these lot languish in apathy and depravity. Keep your heads up, Sons and Daughters of Horen for when this is over, we will be stronger in our faith. Crush the taint in our realm and we will grow closer to the Creator's light.

All pilgrims are urged to take the western roads when traveling to Aldersberg to see the holy tomb of St. Lucien. Do not take the Eastern road by Angren for your own safety; even if one manages to circumvent the robber-barons and hedge knights, Maric himself possess some sort of unnatural sorcery which he attempted to slay the High Pontiff with. Band together my brothers for a war lies ahead of us, and we will need another. Stand firm against evil, and we shall be graced with light.

-Father Tarcell of Valles"

"Is this what true Kings do?" Vasili asks those who surround him in the Karovia bar. Mugs of various types of beverages are sceen scattered amongst the room, abandoned by their owners as they rushed to see the notice that Vasili had produced. "'Storm King' has refused to hear words of most holy High Pontiff, and of Creator himself! Am thinking it becomes more and more evident that these Ex-Knights lusting only for power." The Vanir tugs on his beard in dissaproval, passing the notice around to the crowd. "Might as well be making denounce of Church. These are monsters that must be put down, for good of the Faith and for good of Humanity. The Sea bows to None, brothers. Is time us Vanirs truly took fight to these rebels!" The crowd erupted, men cheering as they reached for their weapons and armour, ready to lay waste to those who ignore the call of the Creator himself.

Lucas Black contributes this part of the conversation in which Shamanism was insulted more by some disturbing fedora wearer.

King Maric sits atop the Citadel, his blessed sword in hand as he kneels before the skies, muttering quiet prayers to the Creator and the Heavens, the same Heavens that powered his blade.

The Infectionist laughs, then lowers to a chuckle, then laughs again.

"Oh how I love humans! So adorable and hilarious! I'll have to talk to this 'Storm King' someday, he sounds like a fun person!"

He walks off, laughing to himself.

"The current faith bastardizes the concept of faith and only has legitimacy in trying to work upon the flaws of its predecessor. If it is not status-quo, it is 'Darfeyism'. God will see that the righteous prevail or decide that mankind is no longer worthy of His grace." - King Jack Rovin, rolling in his grave without an accent.

"I've heard time and time again that the High Pontiff is 'corrupt' and of Carrion vochna. Never have I seen these things portrayed by him and ask for an example of one time when he portrayed such ideals. Before you say he denounced shamanism, that was a mistake upon my part for having ignorance of the situation and relaying his message incorrectly. The Church has pure intentions and will continue to do such until the end of time. Any corruption is immediately routed out and cast aside for there is no room for such in the Creator's plan."

-Thinks Tarcell to dead King Jack

Returning to Petrus, the city gates draw upward as the Imperial Prince Viktor Carrion grips a bloodied battleaxe by his side. Stepping on within, he turns his head to mutter some words into the ear of his loyal guard, Nikita.

"Mmm, is some odd fellows this Storm King has by side. With recent events, am really believing they to be goodly worshipers of Godani?"
