we will be monitoring how the following changes affect the Nexus-Region plugin's functionality and intuitiveness within the next two weeks.

Two weeks are up. Time for a vote.

This poll will be left open for 7-14 days and its outcome will have a guaranteed effect on the existence of the region plugin: 55% majority and we remove the plugin. 45-55% and we take a critical look at the plugin and evaluate the possibilities of fixing or removal. Anything less and we leave it be.

Reason for these numbers is because in any case, transition to a new region policy will take colossal manpower and time which could also be spend elsewhere instead of only pleasing a small-ish majority.

Things to keep in mind before voting:

  • There's no 'keep but fix' option. The fixes from two weeks ago were supposed to be a 'one shot' kind of deal, which means you have to take it or leave it. There's no guarantee features not currently in Nexus-regions will be added if you vote keep, although its always a possibility.
  • You are voting for or against custom region plugins, meaning there will be no Nexus-Regions 2 to worry about. A new system, if remove wins out, will use WorldGuard at most.
  • This poll is not for any kind of regioning policy. The admins and GMs have the floor on this matter. It could end up being total protection or total freebuild or anything in between. I'm sure you'll get a say, however.
  • Features like 'expanding your own region' are hard to provide fairly and are thus independent from the region plugin. If GMs opt to offer this to players, they will do so, regardless of what you vote here. Adding new regions to certain places is the same. Voting either for or against is equally likely to get you such possibilities.

Nothing was done with the regions on the moderator part... No new regions, no removal of unneeded ones, no fixing of current ones. If the plugin is removed, I would kind of blame the GM team for not having a plan, instead of the coding issues which seemed to all have been fixed.

As long as we come up with a plan of how to deal with removing it before we actually remove it to avoid there being a chaotic time in between protections, I'm fine with taking it away.

EDIT: Have to agree with Jistuma, the new patch seemed to clear up many of the bugs (I'm aware that some still lingered, but overall I had no issues with the plots). Plot expansions (the big thing that I was hoping for) was held off because Admins had to come up with a system to do that which they should have been doing since nexus plots were added.

SO BASICALLY, VOTE "KEEP" AND INSTEAD URGE OUR LOCAL GMS AND ADMINS TO GET THEIR POLICIES IN ORDER.

In the event that a) Nexus-regions are removed and b) the new region policy allows for independent, protected settlement plots, your plots will be retained as worldguard regions. If Nexus-regions is removed and the new policy is freebuild, nation-governed village plots, or limited plot space, your current plots will be lost. I wouldn't vote keep solely out of fear of losing your plots, though, as I'm sure many players will very much want to keep their land and this is taken into consideration (but no guarantees; do not quote me on promises made if the Administration uses this opportunity to overhaul the regioning policy).

If all you care for is region expansion you're probably better off voting keep because in the event of removal, there'll be too much other work and discussion on a new system for the staff to implement such reach goals. You're better off making a feedback topic and prodding the admins, as the topic is open for discussion.

I love it, with two clicks I can add players. I can check stats, I can make different permissions. Honestly, it's an amazing plugin, even the activity isn't very bad. I don't feel like doing /rg addmember (whatever my region is called) (name). everytime I want to add someone. If it's such a huge problem, make it where you don't need activity.

Its extremely glitchy, sure its niec to know who owns the plot but I lost one because of how this plugin acts.

The only issue I've had with the regions are glitches really, it's a lot nicer to just have the pillar there and add, remove, or edit ranks by a few clicks in the pillar menu than having to write a command for each thing. I'd say keep.

A few weeks ago I would've voted remove without a second thought. Now, though, most of the glitches and complaints I have with the plugin have been fixed. Is it perfect? No. Is it better than worldguard regions? Yeah. I say keep, but like ark said, activity really has no place.

Let's say they remove the nexus plots, alright? Then they have to spend hours going around redistributing the regions to players and that will take ages. Modreqs will pile up, players upset, bad spooky stuff! And that's if they add worldguard!

What if they... make it all freebuild?! That was a major complaint about the Fringe, ugly buildings everywhere. Plus, no grief protection :C

VOTE KEEP TO PREVENT THIS POSSIBILITY OF FUTURE HASSLES, HOUR(S) OF WAITING FOR MODREQS, AND HEAVEN FORBID FREEBUILD EVERYWHERE!

I see keep ! As long as we can keep our protected lands and the way things are. please do. Its so much better than how W.G was in Anthos from my POV

Remove it and give donators their plots through world guard

I honestly like having the nexus-regions around. I just wish that donators were given plots for their donator plot privilege and I believe that is the main complaint of the entire thing as most of the bugs and complaints have been fixed besides activity. So I vote to keep them, and hope that in the future VIPs will be compensated in some form for their plot, whether it be a plot or something else.
