He literally just posted in high elf Skype chat. Connor doesn't have access to other elf chats. Calm down with the consiracy theories.

Very true! Supremacy tends to spam our Skype chats with all his threads. :P You should see what it's like during an election!

I really think the elf roleplay would be funner if elves were more cohesive and maintain a closer relationship with one another. I found it more enjoyable when there were many elves in an elfy place specifically being elves. Rather than, "sure are a lot of elves here.". I dunno. I like it though.

It's really not in the cards at the moment. Haelun'or as united elven nation didn't work for very specific reasons, and things really haven't changed enough for that to work. The best that can be hoped for is the elven subraces living close together in peace. Things seem to be moving in a positive direction, anyway.

I've always lived away from Elven hubs as an Elf.

I think it's hard to unite the elves under one thing because historically there have almost always been separate groups RPing elves in a different way from each other. Each other just wants to enjoy their own RP.

Much like the human kingdoms, the current elven nations are too different culturally to be under one nation, and not willing to use the force, time and effort requused the subjugate the others.

And subjugation and conquest kills rp, if history has taught us anything

Very true! Giant RP hubs are cool and all but think about it. Doesn't it chaotic the more players there are in one spot? Having too much RP is like giving nutrients to algae. It grows rapidly, uses up all the resources before mass extinction. Maybe not the best analogy but I think it is at least a little bit relevant.

ITT: People discuss High Elves; non-High Elves primarily berate and or complain about them, and High Elves primarily compliment High Elves.

Being a High Elf is, for me, sort of like being in an abusive relationship. They hurt my feelings in their Skype chats every time they're online at the same time by complaining about me in a civil manner, but I still feel a desire to be a High Elf, and members keep promising me it was the last time.

My biggest complaint, by far, with current elven roleplay is the plot situation. The most exclusive, only-rp-with-themselves group got the massive plot right on the mainroad, whereas the group with more people and the group that almost all new players will end up with is crammed in this tiny plot behind the plateau. It doesn't really make much sense to me. If Haelun'or actually allowed other people to Rp with them instead of staying locked in their city and never coming out I would have no problems at all.

I point you to the survey, although the results are preliminary.

Ask nicely and arrange events with us (i.e. invite us to a ball). It works.

Sorry, in my brain I grouped the dark elves and wood elves together when they're not together anymore.

But, as people have said earlier in the thread, I'm not going to look at any of these survey results as conclusive considering high elves got a massive head start about it.

As for events, I meant that considering Haelun'or's city is right on the main road, people should be at least able to see what it looks like or Rp in the general vicinity without having to be part of a very select group. They shouldn't have to set up a whole event just to Rp with the group or in the place that takes up probably the most central region on the map.

I don't really see why the high elves should occupy that spot if they're not going to use the potential that a massive main road plot has. A city with constantly closed-gates will basically be the same no matter where on the map you place it, but only very specific locations can serve as centralized Rp hubs that Athera is desperately lacking atm.

Edit: To clarify, I suppose my problem isn't really with internal elven roleplay as what exists is quite nice. My main issue is how the elven groups interact with other races/groups, which at the moment is basically 'they don't.' If you're not an elf or not one of their specific friends you will never see or talk to one, and considering they occupy a space that is one of the very few places a trading rp hub could exist, it's a bit depressing that they don't let anyone else in to Rp with them.

Pie, people that are not high elves are in the city all the time. However a lot of the time I see people just wanting to get their PvP kick and the high elven playerbase isn't really about that.

"If you're not a high elf or one of their specific friends."

Second part is true, yes, but I think that for the location, the high elves are too restrictive on who they allow to Rp there. If what really matters is seclusion, why make yourselves a massive plot on the main road that everyone goes to?
