And thus, mali, the first, and perhaps the most important okarir is to be selected; Elokarir'mali, and an election must be held. And before an election is held, candidates must be nominated and speeches must be heard. Any pure Mali'aheral may nominate themselves for this post as may the previous Okarir'mali of Haelun'or. Nominations will close in an elven day, and a speech is required for a valid nomination.

Duties of Elokarir’mali:

1.) Greeting. The Okarir’mali welcomes all new citizens to Haelun’or and guides them according to their needs.

2.) Purity. The Okarir'mali tests all new citizens to Haelun'or of their purity, and guides those on the Path to Purity.

3.) Interaction. Interacts intensely with the citizenry of Haelun’or, ensuring new and old citizens are appropriately engaged.

4.) Service. Serves as a referral point for all citizens.

5.) Housing. The Okarir’mali also houses new arrivals and makes sure all citizens meet the requirements for citizenship.

6.) Documentation. It is the Okarir’mali who may deny and accept citizen applications, a duty shared with the Medi'iran and Sohaer.

7.) Lands.  The Okarir’mali also presides over all land within Haelun’or assuring that it is well maintained and orderly.

8.) Guidance & Example. The Okarir'mali serves as a guide and example to other servants, guiding them in their duties.

maehr'sae hiylun'ehya, lliran. Let it begin.

Thallan strides forth before a small crowd, his opulent robes billowing behind him as if caught in a breeze. For several moments he remains stationary, his eyes flickering from person to person as if studying one and all intently. Clearing his voice with a single cough, he begins to speak, using his raised right arm to gesticulate toward those gathered.

"Lliran, perhaps, with myself seeing so many faces of confusion before me, it would do myself a great good to begin by introducing oneself, as it is rather clear to see that many among the gathered are most unawares to my presence amidst Elmali'aheral. I, as one hopes you shall soon learn, am Thallan Tal'iheiuh, and I wish to run for the positon of Okarir'mali for our most blessed cihi and those who reside therein.

"Should one receive the majority vote and be elected into office, I shall remain both dedicated and committed to upholster the exceptional work that those who have been appointed the title in the past have produced. Furthermore, I shall consolidate upon previous Okarir'malian and build upon this, extending the already most impressive work that this role performs on the behalf of elcihi onto a level of both higher performance and excellence. One shall do as follows:"

At this point, Thallan recalls his arm, placing both firmly behind his back, his hands clasping together with a strong grip. Pacing back and forth repeatedly, he would continue, his voice raised to more of a bellow:

"Once the highly effective construction within elcihi has halted following completion, one senses that there shall be a large rush by all so as to attain a place of residence - a home. Said rush, should one be elected, will provide no worry to a single Elf; all Mali'aheral shall be issued with housing free of charge, all of which shall provide shelter, comfort and warmth (this is, of course, assuming that they are a legal citizen and have completed the housing application form released not so long ago). The health of our people is my utmost priority, and fulfilling their required needs a close second.

"As for the entry of new Mali'aheral (all of whom shall be Mali'thilln), the task of greeting and accepting new High Elves into Haelun'or  shall come as no problem to me. Many a time have I stood by whilst another Mali questions those who arrive to the gates, pleading for entry, frequently being sent away. I, too, have participated in the acceptance of three or so Mali'aheral. This experience, I believe, permits me to perform this aspect of the role at offer to an exceptional standard. However, I do not believe that this is a job for solely one Elf to fulfil. I present to you now the idea for the implementation of a set few, by name, perhaps, Elanniliran, who's prime reason of existence is to assist all new entrants with their needs.

"This note, lliran, which provides nominees with a set list of sorts as to what must be done in the position of Elokarir'mali, refers to `interaction` as an important factor for the electoral victor. I speak with those around me as much as possible, helping both them and myself to solve daily problems which one may be faced with. This is, as far as one understands, what said note wishes from an Okarir'mali when referring to `interaction` within elcihi.

"Though I have only covered three or so of the credentials needed for this post, I believe that one has provided enough information so as to display to you my worth to become this important figure within Haelun'or. This, lliran, is why I, Thallan Tal'iheiuh, should be presented with the title of Okarir'mali for Elmali'aheral.

"As a final note, perhaps so as to quench your needs for at least the slightest insight into my personality, I shall speak shortly upon my rather platitudinous past. Being currently of age 213, I was born in Aegis in the year 1274. Since this time, I have always resided among my kin, remaining ever pure in doing so. Though I have not ran for any political positions in this time, do not be put off by this, as I believe that I have the capabilities to undertake the great task that this role will provide the candidate who receives the most votes. I thank you for listening Lliran."

He bows swiftly, muttering a goodbye of sorts, before turning upon his heel and striding away.

Mediliyur walks up to the note writing on it" I nominate Mediliyur."

Mediliyur stands before her fellow kin gathering everyone near so they may hear her speech:

“Karin’ayla fellow Mali’aheral, as many of you know it has come time again to vote on who shall be elokarir’mali. This position is one of great importance to ensure the purity of our people is maintained to the highest degree. This is what I have always worked on in my off time as well as the entire time I held the position of Okarir’mali in the past.

Whenever I have time I make sure to spend it at the gates meeting the many new faces that wonder to our cihi, I always find great joy in testing those who seek entry into our cihi, using the knowledge I’ve gathered by listening to the many wise and intelligent mali'aheral that have taught me. Using the knowledge I have gained over the years, I ask special questions to ensure all new mali’aheral who enter our glorious cihi are pure of blood and mind, and will maintain and uphold the maehr'sae hiylun'ehya as we do ourselves.

In the cihi of Tahn’siol, I was appointed as okarir’mali and during that time I watched over numerous mali’ata who now serve as pure members of our cihi. This is just what I was able to accomplish with our limited space and resources of the fringe. Following the great work of the past, I promise to continue to deliver the outstanding results I produced in the past and use them onward into the future our grand cihi. All my life, it has been my joy to help others and to answer all questions asked to me with clarity. Normally do this by being active within the cihi speaking with all our members ensuring that all the mali’aheral have what they need, and have all their requests fulfilled.

As elokarir’mali I shall continue to complete the actions I have spoken of in my speech and much more in order to maintain and uphold the great values us as mali’aheral hold so dear. I do this so that the maehr'sae hiylun'ehya will not be forgotten in the hearts and minds of the generations to come. I know you my fellow mali’aheral will pick what is right for our cihi. Van'ayla”

Mediliyur gives those listening to her a bow before turning to walk away.

Upon hearing of the nominations, Andria Ith’ael approaches a crowd within the inn with blissful confidence; her expression not one of nervousness, but one of pride.

“Greetings lliran, once again I offer myself for the position of Okarir’mali, a title I once held until the very last day of our control in Annil’sul. Since my inception into the leadership of our nation, I have held all my position for as long as needed and to the best of my ability. The one who takes initiative is the one who succeeds.”

The blonde-haired elfess’ eyes move along the crowd, her expression now much more neutral than earlier.

“If I am elected to the position again, it is uttermost priority to ensure that the city continue to thrive via effective management of housing. I also believe it may be adequate to have secondary positions to assure the city’s blessed citizens are housed as soon possible.

Alas, words are fruitless if they are not acted upon, therefore the only proof I have is of my prior actions. I served our kind for over a decade, more so approaching fifteen years at this point. In that time, I have constantly called for change during my duty as Okarir’mali, along with managing the entire upper district of the city.

By my work, the citadel within Aldersberg was secured, providing our kind with a home in perhaps one of our darkest days. From there on I also effectively managed the majority of the colony and for a time I maintained relations with those who surrounded our citadel. From my time as Maheral, one can see I was effective at caretaking - a skill most often needed in the role of Okarir'mali.

However, be warned lliran, despite the position of Okarir’mali being lowly in this time, whomever you choose to assist within the government holds the power to continue the tribulation that has plagued our people for so long. Remember what inactivity and poor leadership can do our blessed nation and remember those who helped to regain our homeland. Aymaehr’sae hiylun’ehya lliran."

She then moves down from the imaginary spotlight, and merges back into the crowd.

Valmuel kindly nods to Andria, stepping up.

"I have not prepared any form of speech, and nor do I believe I will achieve such a rank as this. Though it is my duty as a citizen of Haelun'or to strive to aid our kin, and that is exactly why I stand before you today."

He pushes his long white hair behind his ears with an abrupt sigh.

"I may or may not promise cheese."

Val waves to the crowd, bowing, then turning to walk back into the darkness of who knows where.

"Maehr'sae hiylun'ehya!"

Archae nominates herself, sending in a letter with such information on it. The letter would be read later upon arrival.

"A tree is known by its fruit; a woman by her deeds. A good deed is never lost. She who sows courtesy reaps friendship, and she who plants kindness gathers love. Like the seeds, I will grow, and I will birth more seeds to help others grow as well. I have done everything I can to assist the community through research and working the gates in the lands before Athera. I would like to continue now with the title of Okarir'mali. If you know my efforts, you know my intentions and motives. I will allow my actions to speak for themselves."

The letter ends with an etched plant symbol.
