*The rolling echoe of fire hangs onto the winds in the Northern end of the continent, The Human Lands. Angren still burns, a dark cloud collects above its ruined foundations, the stone cracked and charred in many places.

A small but steady stream of people make their way along the road towards Petrus, once the centerpiece to an Empire. Many banners bounce up and down lazily in the distance as Lords, Barons, Priests and Guild Masters alike come forth.

Godfrey the Third, descendant of Horen and great grandson to Godfrey Horen the great unificator and founder of the greatest Empire in the history of Humanity, awaits the representatives of mankinds greatest as they file into his halls from atop a podium before his throne. Beside him are his Captains and by them their Sergeants. Great streams of purple and black line the walls, giving life to the otherwise lifeless cobbled stone behind it. As the last foot falls and the echoes cease their journey from around the room, Godfrey the Third of House Horen speaks solemnly but with strength . . .

The gloom of significant loss weighs heavy on all those who are able to behold the tragedy at the hands of an ungodly and dark foe. The Undead hit our first line of defense without a single bit of remorse nor mercy, bringing hellfire to a shining symbol of Humanity's existence. Something that will not be forgotten for a long time to come.

We were seemingly helpless to stop this attack. Unprepared and unable to tackle the surprise assault by the forces of evil. Renatus appeared too wrapped up in itself to take note of what was happening around it and the rest of our race could do little but watch from the cliff side as the King and his Regent Horen were consumed by flame alongside the mighty keep of stone. The Dragon that once breathed the flame was then snuffed out by another, darker one.

But it is in this darkest of hour that we may be able to find strength we had thought lost. A power has been laid dormant within us all, perhaps it is time we unleash it upon an evil that plagued our first Father Horen. These Undead, these cultists of the worst enemy we have ever known and that has ever been. These Heretics to light, to goodness, to purity and to peace. We shall meet them as a force united with a fire of our own burning away corruption and bringing the light that exists in all of us to the blackened faces of our enemies. We as Human beings will not be swept away by this enemy nor any enemy ever again.

*He pauses for a moment before resuming a softer tone while delivering his speech . . .

Some speak of a power struggle in the wake of all this, and I simply ask you all . . . why? Why give into the whispers of evil directly following an attack by that same evil. Why allow yourself to become consumed by anything other than revenge? Against the Undead, the demons who laid torch to our brothers and sisters, twisting our fallen comrades into serving their tainted will. The only power struggle is the one we create, and we need not create any. There is none, to myself included, who desires to rule another mans Kingdom, Duchy, Barony or otherwise. I Lord over what is mine and to those who look to their neighbors and seek to do harm, you should reconsider your actions. We cannot face this fight and hope to win if we kill the best of our kind, tangling over borders and thrones. What good is anything made from Gold, Stone or Steel if we are all dead or enthralled to a dark master?

*Godfrey lets his words sink in for a moment, a blanket of silence envelopes the long hall filled with many different faces from many different lands . . .

So I say it again, speak not of struggle and speak only of victory where it matters the most; on the front lines of the Undead invasion. Stand with me and my Hounds, not against them. Stand alongside the hailed houses of Silverblades, Savoie, Stafyr, and Horen. Stand alongside the men of the Daelenic Order, of Hanover’s Eagles; The brave and hardy souls of Aesterwald home to the mighty Rovins, and the lonely heroes that inhabit all the land in between. Stand against the Undead and against anything or anyone that would stand against us in our pursuit to rid our lives of this great evil. We are strong comrades! We do not need one banner to fight this fight when we have many! Come into the fold of your kin and seize victory! This will be the age of Man that will show all past, present and future generations that we will not go quietly into the night; That we will not be the harbingers of our own destruction and that we will never give up!”

*The Hounds present let out a deep hoorah in near perfect unison- ever faithful and loyal soldiers of their Lord’s will- marking the conclusion of Godfrey’s words and opening the floor to food and drink as it is brought out and laid on the grand table and perhaps more from the minds of those attending as they debate and voice their opinions. . .

Baron Paul de Montfort is in attendance, nods briefly. "The collapse of the Rebel Kingdom has caused instability across the realm. I pray we find a way to mend the wounds and once again stand together as humans against the undead threat."

Godfrey's retainer, the veteran knight Ser Vulpes Roke, stands to the side of the room, leaning on the pommel of his bastard sword.

"Unified, the descendants of Horen can lay waste to any foe. We've seen it before, and we'll see it again with these hooded undead fucks."

"Ave Horen, Ave Legatum, Ave Humanity!"

Franz, after reading the news, stands from his seat and walks towards the nearest door. "We ride for Petrus." he calls back to his men before disappearing down the steps.
