The World of Ruma

The World of Ruma is a realm created at the start of time, by the work of many higher powers who had been in existence before the concept of time was even thought of. They grew to love and hate, laugh, hurt and so forth. These beings created the world based on their ideas  and what they imagined, and those which would cultivate it on themselves. Emotions were part of what the higher beings had created, and now these lesser beings which would inhabit Ruma, would have them also.

As time passed, the beings which became Gods were less and less involved with their creations. The beings were self reliant now, children taking their first steps alone. As Gods became forgotten, they died. Sometimes their worship would begin again, and life would be brought back to these beings but more often new Gods were created. So powerful was the soul of these creations it held the strings of life for their own creators.

War came and war passed, peace, famine, miracles and so forth. The world was divided by deep oceans and marked by masses of land which would be ruled by mighty Empires and brought done by fierce hordes. The main races which inhabit the world of Ruma are...

Human

9g4bj1d.jpg

The most diverse and populous race, Humans tend to adapt to their environment with exceptions to ashlands and subterranean lands. They can cultivate a field and feed an army. However they may be numerous, but they lack a lifespan. Leading brutal lives, they are susceptible to disease and illness as well as frailty and a short age. Of all the races which worship, none are more commonly diverse as Humans. From shamanism, to polytheism, animism to monotheism you can find a human somewhere worshipping one of these or another.

Bonus:

Larger armies

Adaptable

Malus:

Vulnerable to disease

Short lives

Fâe

The Fâe are a mystical race, being divided into three subtypes. They are the most adept with Magic, and very long lived as well. However, they are mostly infertile with one or two children per couple if they are lucky. They also have a natural affinity for precision, making them good archers or ranged warriors. In addition to their base bonus and malus of the Fâe, the chosen subrace gets their specific Bonus and Malus as well.

Bonus:

Long Lived

Good marksmen

Malus:

Infertility

Low population

High Fâe

TgEK3jW.jpg

The High Fâe live in cities of white marble, with graceful spires and elegant architecture which lasts for millennia. They are elegant craftsmen and make brilliant scholars and magicians as well as fine warriors if need be. They are, however, seen as arrogant or aloof to outsiders who do not understand their life. Worship with the High Fâe is almost exclusive to a variety of Gods whom are patrons of the arts, knowledge, and beautiful crafts.

Bonus:

Legendary Craftsmen

Malus:

Poor Relations with Outsiders

Silvan Fâe

nuLaTWr.jpg

The Silvan Fâe chose to stay in the forest when the race was split. They prefer the company of trees and animals, but lack a deep knowledge of architecture or crafting with metals or stones. They are beautiful musicians and poets as well as magnificent healers and staunch pacifists unless truly threatened, aiding an ally, or honoring a pact. The Silvan Fâe usually give thanks to nature spirits and lightly worship or praise gods of healing and nature.

Bonus:

Legendary Healers

Malus:

Isolationists

Low Fâe

RaCPvBo.jpg

Dwelling in the depths of the Earth, the Low Fâe were once normal Fâe but sought to rule over their kin. They waged a bloody war and divided the race into the High Fâe, Silvan Fâe, and Low Fâe. They were cast from the sun and forced to live under the wary where their skin greyed and their hair turned white and their emotions gave to hatred and jealousy of their kin who live in the sun. The Low Fâe mostly worship dark gods who promise revenge and power over their surface dwelling kin.

Bonus:

Night Vision

Malus:

Day Blindness (Hard to see)

Drūdmūr

1iXNASS.jpg

The Drūdmūr are short and stocky subterranean humanoids which love precious things, and a good drink. They are known for their legendary architecture and crafts as well as their deep mines and drinks which could turn a man blind they're so strong. They are a very honorable people and incredibly stubborn. They usually live from 150-240 years of age, and spend most of it in the ground or fighting enemies of their hold or kingdom. The Drūdmūr give praise to their ancestors and the stone, while also worshipping deities of craft or fruitful work when they mine.

Bonus:

Craftsmen

Mines

Wealth

Honorable Warriors

Malus:

Stubborn

Harsh

Impatient

Hot Blooded

Uruk

3FzWX2S.jpg

The Uruk are mostly nomadic, but sometimes domestic warriors. They carve Warpaths through lands and sometimes settle to form Warnations which usually lead long messy wars with Drūdmūr or Humans. They usually avoid Silvan Fâe for they both respect nature, and they fear the edged weapons of the High Fâe. Clans often compete in displays of strength at feasts or celebrations of the Spirits and Ancestors. Honor is the driving factor of the Uruk, and a true Uruk will die before he sees dishonor. Due to their constant lust for battle, some Uruk descend into a Bloodlust, and must be put down or kept in cages usually, with only a few Farseers being able to cure their insanity. Uruk are mostly shamanistic and revere the ancestors and spirits, with a few scattered tribes who worship actual gods.

Bonus:

Honest

Honorable

Fierce Warriors

Malus:

Food Consumption

Harsh

Bloodlust

Magic

In Ruma, magic is fairly conventional. One proficient in the use of magic connects to a patron of said magic, such as a god who is the patron of flames, and they train themselves to use this connection and strengthen the bond with the patron over time. Usually an individual obtains a weak bond over time and progresses no further, but there is always an exception.

Shamanism is similar in that the Shamans connect with the spirits and bargain and do tasks for them in order to gain their favor and more power. The strongest of these Shamans are called Farseers, and are half in this world, and half in the Spirit World, in constant communication with the spirits.

I'm gonna be using the lake for a large event actually, so I'll give you the region you wanted second and I'll give you a bit more than I usually would for the inconvenience.

Attention: We have formed a small Skype chat so that you all can chat and poke the bear if you want. If interested, add me on Skype of PM me and I can add you. My Skype is zxzItalian_Assassinzxz

I'll probably start the RP thread this evening or tomorrow morning. I'm gonna hold out hope for a Dwarf nation.

Oh as well, I forgot to clarify that 1 page is roughly 1 year due to this being less of a single time period and instead more of a saga type of FRP. Also no steampunk.
