Another member of the council must now be found. The Master of Magic, Elokarir'tanya, is needed. Any pure Mali'aheral may nominate themselves for this position.

Nominations will close in an elven day, and a speech is required for a valid nomination.

Duties of Elokarir’tanya:

1.) Regulation. The Okarir'tanya is to choose how magic is regulated in Haelun'or for the greater good of the mali'aheral.
2.) Inspection. The Okarir'tanya is held responsible for inspecting all magical creations and discoveries in Haelunor.
3.) Progression. The Okarir'tanya works towards progressing the magical development of the city.

maehr'sae hiylun'ehya, lliran.

Janos Ith'ael steps up, to speak. He wrings his hands in an idle, anxious manner, though his face shows no nervousness- his behavior seemingly like a tic of some sort. He clears his throat, looking down upon the rest with vibrantly violet eyes that display his age.

"Mali'aheral, I am one unknown to the many new faces who populate the city. My name is Janos Ith'ael, and to those who may remember me or have met me, you know I am a mali who has dedicated my life and my work to the study of the arcane. I have shared my knowledge and my findings with all who ask, and they know that my work has been for the progression of our knowledge of the arcane world and how we may apply this knowledge to our own world and help it. I've made great strides in my few centuries in the world, and I intend to make many more.

I know not any other mali who could take up this role except our Sohaer himself, as he was Okarir'tanya in the old city. I hope you all make the rational decision in placing your vote for me, as I am the most qualified and admittedly intellectual mali'aheral in this field. If you need further proof, simply contact me, and I would be happy to arrange a time to discuss my work. Ahern ito nae'leh for your attention. Van'ayla."

Iat steps up to speak

"Perhaps you can discuss some of your work? If it is truly just the matter of asking then here I am. I am curious of your studies. Could you elaborate?"

With slow, precise strides, a High Elf makes his way towards the Cihi's center. A final step leads him to the accumulated middle of everyone's eyes and attention. Lorien plants his feet into the ground and spins, facing those present. A winning smile graces his features as he stands for all to see; a tall man, with ivory hair arranged upon his head, occasionally straying infront of savant, turquoise eyes.

"I doubt very many of you might know my name, yet I should hope a few of you were present in the Cihi that was first created upon our arrival to Thales. If that is so, you would hopefully recognise my face, and I shall now give a name to the face; I am Lorien. Without further ado, allow me to give you a reason to my ambitious claim on the title of 'Okarir'tanya'.

I am well learned in the Arcane Arts, and have studied under our Sohaer, Kalameet, when he was the Archmage of the Mages Guild, in the art of Alteration. I possess the ability to perform a few more magics, and contain the knowledge of many more, extending to magics outside of the Voidal Category, such as Shamanic and Clerical magics. The majority of my time is spent reading, and I have a sound knowledge of most of the beasts and creatures inhabiting the many worlds we have shared with them, as well as the one we currently inhabit. My forte, however, is not in my knowledge. I understand that there will always be people who know more than Yours Truly in a specific subject, as my knowledge is broad, as it should be for such a position. No, my strength lies in my drive for success, my leadership skills, and my knack for experimenting with magic, pushing its boundaries so as to create new and formidable spells, used for progress and furthering understanding for all Aheral within our walls.

All these are hollow words, however; simple sentences sown together to assure you of my prowess and dedication. What is wanted is progress, and I promise you all progress, discipline of the usage of magics, and the safe and smooth conduct of any creations of magic within our walls. My goals shall be to register all magic users within our Cihi, and to provide a list of legal and illegal users, for those who are not from within our walls, but might visit. I shall pass rules on the usage of magic, and shall ask all mages to work together with me to perform feats of creation such as providing power for enchantments within the entire Cihi, or warding our walls and gates from all sorts magics, so that we may be safe. A small order would be formed, under my guidance, to regulate these changes, and votes shall be cast for the populace to agree upon, should major changes be suggested.

I do not intend to simply stand idle and maintain the use of magic within our walls. No, I intend to lead us into a brighter future, one in which we continue progressing, with enforced rules and the development of many beneficial experiments. If stagnation is what you wish, then I am of no use to you. If it is the benefit of controlled change that you seek, then I shall prove to be an able Okarir'tanya."

Lorien pauses, eyes looking to each and every one of those who had listened to him.

"I encourage questions, especially on my personal advances in magical experimentation. Thank you for your time."

Janos looks to Iat, delivering a curt nod.

"Of course." he says quietly, and takes a breath to begin speaking.

"I was a member of the research and development team led by the Sohaer many years ago that built the original mana obelisk, and I have assisted in its further improvement since its creation.

My studies and work have revolved around alteration as an asset to daily technology for the improvement of life. Within my notes lie a variety of theoretical experiments and projects that I have developed working prototypes for, and simply need the time and resources to become physical realizations in elcihi.

Perhaps my favorite of my blueprints is that for the prison: an alteration-forged series of cells with wards installed in a modular fashion, built to withhold nearly any magical threat due to their adaptable nature. This among other things line the pages of my notebook, and I am certain that as Okarir'tanya these studies would go to a fruitful cause and finally see presence in the material world."

Sylandrian, looking about for more contestants, slowly raises his hand. He quickly remembers that such isn't required to speak, before taking a few tentative steps onto the stage.

"I-um.. I would like to be the Guardian of the purple--I mean magic." he stumbles over his words, sighing softly as he watches over the likely disappointed faces.

"I haven't worked on any mana obelisks... I'm... pretty sure I don't even know what those are, to be quite honest. Most of my magic comes from books... which I read... of course..." He dabs a bit of sweat from his brow, smiling nervously.

"And scrolls." He suddenly blurts, as if that held any relevance.

"I've also never held a position of power in any governmental sense... I-um.. I.. I suppose I'm completely unqualified. I won a fencing tournament once. But I like to think I'd be alright at it.. I suppose this is more of a speech to serve as someone's assistant." He nods, seeming to have unconvinced himself of his own ability to lead.

"Ahern'ito neh'leh... lliran. Van'ayla. Maehr'sae hiylun'ehya." He slowly steps off, shielding his own face as he trots off.

A hooded figure passes by the nominations. The sharp sound of metal on stone, almost like footsteps, resonating from their feet. A crispy voice whispers "Fools." Before long, the figure has disappeared once more.

Lorien would often be found striding quickly through the Cihi, in the upcoming days. Occasional heralds for willing assistants in experiments would not be uncommon, and soon word would be around that the elf is creating a device of ultimate area protection. It would seem the elf has, in fact, been keeping to his claims and promises.

((Enjoying myself as I go around creating a pretty nifty device. Feel free to join in at the Cihi, at around 19:00 to 1:00am UTC: +4:00. Currently, harm is 100% avoided, but once the device becomes lethal and capable of providing its function....well...))
