The Bells of the Cathedral of Saint Amyas in Leuvaarden rang and echoed throughout the burgeoning hub of faith and scripture as the ceremony of enthronement was being held. Even the cynics of the town wandering into Church that day; religious zeal was at an all time high given the circumstances, and all wanted to witness the appointment at hand, if not of reverence, in respect to the tradition. The choir of acolytes and orderman sang out in rich Flexio an ancient hymn.

Da pacem, Domine, in diebus nostris

Quia non est alius

Qui pugnet pro nobis

Nisi tu Deus noster.

As soon as they started singing, Kristoff dressed in a blanche white paced into  the cathedral. Despite his gruesome scars, his wooden hand, and his missing eye, Kristoff looked beaming with reverence and humility, somehow giving off the impression of youth despite decades of service to the Church.

Fiat pax in virtute tua: et abundantia in turribus tuis.

He continued walking towards the altar as the Savoyard princelings, their host of Amyasian soldiery, and all the commons of Aldersberg and Leuvaarden watched eagerly. Their beloved parish leader, Kristoff of Hanseti,  was to be raised to the Ecclesiastical Synod and be named Bishop of Savoie.

Da pacem, Domine, in diebus nostris

Quia non est alius

Qui pugnet pro nobis

Nisi tu Deus noster.

Propter fratres meos et proximos meos loquebar pacem de te:

Da pacem, Domine, in diebus nostris

Quia non est alius

Qui pugnet pro nobis

Kristoff kneeled in front of the altar. The murmurs of the crowd quieted down as the Vicar of God made himself present and before Kristoff. Bearing in both hand an intricate laurel of leaves and brush, the High Pontiff Daniel I began the ceremony.

“Standing before me is Kristoff of Hanseti, Priest of the Canon Church. He has proven able and ardent in his ministries and apt at his duties. He has shown great promise and great virtue; thus by the powers that be, the Canon Church and its institutions have decided to enthrone him and enshrine him, naming him a member of her Synod and a leader of her dioceses. Kristoff of Hanseti, recite the oath of enthronement."

Kristoff cleared his throat and spoke forth.

“I swear to protect the whole, eternal, binding, and sealed scriptures of our Canon, to preserve the rites of our faith and and instruct the flock of its teachings to the laymen and the priesthood. I swear to maintain my Diocese with vigilance, rooting out heresy, apostasy, and crime from my jurisdiction and be in good conduct among by brothers in the Synod. I take upon the laurels of Horen on these vows, to protect my conscience and being, and in remembrance of his path."

The High Pontiff lays down the laurels unto Kristoff's brow. He raises Kristoff off, before retrieving an antique robe.

"Kristoff of Hanseti, I robe you in the garb of St. High Pontiff Lucien, and name you Bishop of Savoie. Go to your flock and raise forth testaments to our faith!"

The cathedral bells ring once more as the procession leaves in splendor, a new bishop of the faith named.

Baron Paul de Montfort smiles, walking down the newly paved streets of Montfort his cousin and close friend Jacques de Montfort tells him of the crowning of a Savoyard Bishop. "Canonist and Proud!" the Baron says, making a Lorraine cross with his fingers. "Perhaps we would expand our Chapel so that His Holiness will grand us a Bishopric?"

They both nod

Allister grins along with Jan as angelic light literally bears down upon Sevoyard lands, eclipsing the Jungle city of the Kha' and leaving it in total darkness.
