Questions About Some Apparent Rules

If someone wants to roll for an emote against yours, such as "bob attacks joe"

"joe dodges"

Bob asks joe to roll

Is he required to roll and abide by the results or what?

Is one hit kill RP seriously not allowed? For example, someone emoted getting stepped on by my troll. This person was a child, and when I said he'd be dead from such a thing, he said "no you can't 1 emote kill people" and I was just like "Wat?"

It was resolved, but still. Is this a thing? Do we abandon realism for this?

1. I don't think you have to roll if one person does.

2. Pretty sure 1-emote kills are discouraged, but are allowed.

1. No you don't have to roll rolls only count if people agree to them.

2. Generally it's highly frowned upon to open a fight with a 1-emote kill before anyone can /really/ respond, but at the same time, that's what would Rp make the most sense if you're ambushing someone. If you're in the middle of a fight and one of the emotes would kill a combatant in one strike there is no reason to not have that happen.

The real question is, did supersodapops approve you playing a troll?

edit: https://www.lordofthecraft.net/topic/87595-completed-lore-trolls/

it's under playable racial lore and is stated that you don't need permission to play a troll on the wiki friend-o

1) No you dont have to its just courtesy

2) It actually can be a bannable offense depending on the circumstances. The example you provided is very grey area and is actually really discouraged. Here are examples

Bannable - Orc walks over and goes to grab Elf's head and snap their neck with a quick motion.

Acceptable - Assassin creeps along and moves behind King, moving to stab him in the neck silently and quickly.

While the second one is a 1-hit kill, it gives people a chance to move and get away. If they chose to die by this, then its them chosing it. You can not force a character to do something, that is the whole thing.

You can one-hit kill people but if you just rapid-fire emote charging your lightning-o-mancy or loading your arbalest, aim for the head, and say that you don't want to roll, that's bad RP.

You can't one-emote kill anyone ever. That's just powergaming.

You need his permission.

No you don't. He's not in control of it anymore, BaronVonSomething is.

As for the situation i'm referring to, the roll and the 1 hit kill have nothing to do with each other. The one hit kill thing was in th emiddle of a fight. This little kid came up behind my troll and tried to attack me with a wooden axe, but I got stumbled back from a hit or something and emotedsomething like as folllows

"Stumbles backwards, and quite possibly unintentionally stepping on the kid, should he not move."

Even so no where does it say that permission is needed in the lore

Sorry it used to say so

No, I hope it isn't a rule. Rolls can be thrown out when the person honestly knows that what they are attempting shouldn't work, but you know, rolled a twenty!
