Birdnerdy 1539 Share Posted May 4, 2015 “Mali’onn Valah" (Elves among Men) Introduction Silver and bronze intertwined, the Atreides are an elven family born of the blood of mali’ame and their high elven kin. Known for their strong connections with the human realm, House Atreides has always held a certain fascination with the sons of Horen. Frequently found among the ranks of human militaries, in association with human organizations, and in all places where men dwell, the elves who bear the name Atreides have yet to find an environment that they cannot adapt to. History The name Atreides is not an ancient one, nor one of great prestige. In fact, the surname was only coined on a whim by the first Atreides, the elf Ecthallion. The true beginnings of House Atreides lie in the city of Lin’ame, where the high elf, Re’nard Evar’il, and the wood elf Linnor Att’riades, birthed their first child. In those days, the union of an elf of silver and an elf of bronze was a punishable crime. The couple lived in a small cottage outside of city limits, and made every attempt to avoid their lineage being investigated by the local authorities. Thusly, their child Ecthallion grew up without much interaction with his elven kin, keeping to himself, and aiding his father in his geological work. When Ecthallion reached the age of 50, becoming an adult in elven society, his uncle on his mother’s side, Gantar, advised him journey out into the human Empire, where he might be safer. Ecthallion traveled to every corner of Oren, from the thatched cottages of Furstenburg and Pravets, to the grand cities of Aldersburg and Vanderfell. After a brief return home to fight in the battle of Anni’sul, he settled in Aesterwald, enlisting in the Order of the Black Eagle. He served in the levies of man for many years, fighting in every major battle that occurred during that period. His personal exploits are unimportant, but it was during this time that Ecthallion changed his surname from Att’riades, to the more human-sounding Atreides. Traits Elves of the Atreides line have quite a variety of personalities. First and foremost, they are adaptable. Atreides pride themselves on being able to survive and thrive in any environment they are placed in. There are very few traits that define an Atreides, the mix of high elven and wood elven blood makes each member unique on their own way. Appearance Elves of the Atreides line have pale skin, a tribute to their high elven lineage, but their hair can range from a light blond, to a rich, auburn brown. All Atreides have sea green eyes. Family Tree Current Members Ecthallion Atreides (birdnerdy) An experienced soldier, leader, and disciplinarian. Proud warrior of the North, and patriarch of the Atreides family. Lilian Atreides (Dolinare) Younger sister of Ecthallion, a talented harp player. (( The rest is up to you, if you want to play her. Paris Atreides (Praetorlupus) The youngest in the Atreides line, Paris is a brash young elf, setting out into the world of man. Teryon Atreides (Taran Albrecht) (FaraBaumi) Bastard Son of Ecthallion Atreides, Teryon was adopted into the Scylfing culture, taking on the name Taran. Quite a good woodworker, I might add. Draetus Atreides (Kyle4924) A distant relative of the Atreides family. Angelica Atreides (fawnmiller) A young female elf adopted into the Atreides family. Minecraft Username: Dolinare (previously RejectedSonnet) Character I'm applying for: Lilian Atreides I'll send you the details for my Skype. I do rather like the idea of the virtues this family holds.
