Questions Towards Community Regarding Kharajyr

From Skype chats I have been informed that there seems to be three categories of Kharajyr players currently. Those that follow the original group and attempts to follow the lore as best as they could (given the situations thrown at them), those that decide to play a Kharajyr but choose to reside within settlements away from other Kharajyr (usually as adopted kids, or pets rather) and those that get a bunch of friends to play Kharajyr with them to join a small town (mostly as a family, or friends).

The questions I have are singerly directed towards those Kharajyr that avoid the original group and those that don’t even play Kharajyr.

First, to the “other” Kharajyr; What is it that you gain from these other groups, that you don’t from the original? How can the original conform to allow more active Kharajyr players to join in with them? If it’s the lore, then I cannot say it can be changed since it’s what makes them unique.

Then, to those who don’t play Kharajyr; What is your opinion of the race as a whole? Have you considered playing as one? If so, have you and did you enjoy it? Why didn’t you? If not, what’s making you not wish to try one?

I ask that answers are at least more than one sentence and be genuine, it’s simply for the betterment of a group, that can then assist in the betterment of the server as a whole.

Thanks, and I look forward to your answers.

Posted this without the permission of the Kharajyr leadership! I've been naughty... ;-;

I played a Kha in Anthos, probably when Kha were at their best. Was  Geo's kid, Rynsuho was her name methinks. Was fun, but right now, I think the Kha are kinda dead-ish? It's weird to see them flopping about, like probably one in every 20-30 player I see is a Kha. And that's being generous. The last Kha I saw was an Ape'Kha. I think what would help the Kha out, instead of trying to be a "race" and have like, a city and a government, it might be best to go nomadic for a while. Just keep it small until you attract players.

What really hurt the Kha, IMO, was starting off as a "main" race, they didn't have the numbers to sustain it and it hurt them. So just, keep it small, ya know? Get some tents in the Caliphate, trade, all that jazz.

I did play a kha once and I did enjoy it; however I was quite busy on Khel and could not afford other rp.

Favorite part of the race was that they are innate strange, exotic. Strange creatures who do not develop the same as the other races, such as having a good ability to move around on all fours or their reaction to sugar, reactions other races don't have. In short, it's their difference/exoticness that gives them the most attention for me. They're strange mysterious beings

However, me being baconthief I am not allowed to play another race.

Is speaking without the accent a crime worthy of making you an Ape Kha?

In all honesty, the only time I've ever considered playing one was when a small group of people got together to do so, and even then I only roleplayed it for about an hour. The whole thing has always seemed boring to me, mostly because it doesn't appeal to any of my interests.

Honestly, it's possible. Kha' will think you're wierd but as as long as you follow Metztli, no, you're still a "normal" Kha'.

I think the server has had enough of the Kharajyr (Speaking of when I was last on, which was a month or two ago). They pretty much died out, as I'm sure many of us can relate to who are from LOTC groups where a few people stop coming online, and then more and more follow suit because there's not much to do. I wandered through what was left of the Kharajyr's Island/Land and saw a single person the three times I visited (Zeriko, scum(Inside joke for old Kha)).

I did consider playing one, and was the first person to have their Kha app accepted way back when (Asulon?). It was extremely enjoyable, and I don't regret playing a Kharajyr or becoming involved with them at all. I stopped being involved when the Soul'Kha was wrongfully banished by Tla'Morthawl.

The Kharajyr were a nice addition to the server at the time, but the server constantly changes at a pace not many can keep up with. Soon the Kha-pelt rugs were a prized item in any home, and they were pushed off their island into caves (Mori), yadda yadda. I'd personally like the Kha to die off or return to the ancient motherland never to be seen again, but seeing as I'm currently not involved with the server I don't expect my opinion to be taken seriously. In that case, keep doing what you're doing.

@Sky: That was more than one sentence and genuine, I hope.

Adam Barnett is the only Kha I've seen in the last year.

You aren't looking enough. We're spread out, but we're here. I've been active for ages, except for one or two activity drops. I can name plenty more who are active, but a lot of people have come and gone, being honest.

I appreciate your honesty and respect your opinion, however much I disagree with it. Being a Kha' for a year and a half now, I have plenty of experience with the community. We have run into some trouble, yes. But it was due to a plethora of problems, many of which are fixed or being fixed. Inactive leadership, disagreement among ourselves, horrible settlement, or just the plain lack of will to get on. But what I'm seeing now with myself as the "impromptu" leader is a lot of those things changing, a lot of Kha' making an actual true effort to revive us. And with any luck, if my plans and the community's plans come together, we'll successfully bring back the Kha' and then some. Beating a dead horse? Maybe. But it's a dead horse that I am /extremely/ passionate about, as are many of my fellow Kha'. I wish your opinion of us was better, but I suppose yours is not different from many people's. Hopefully those can be changed with time.

The Kha is pretty much the laughing stock of the server when it comes to races, for three primary reasons. Their looks, behavior and speech are the main issue.

Lasted for about two weeks until it just became flat out an embarrassment to play one, the picture below speaks for itself.
