Bird's 2000Th Post Amca (Ask My Characters Anything)

This is my 2000th post, but instead of an AMA I'm taking inspiration from Urara and having an 'Ask My Characters Anything'. You can still ask me things if you want, I suppose. If you don't know my characters, they are:

 

Elorna

A wood elf druid. She's had a lot of involvement with elven politics in the past, and has been a long time member of the druidic order.

 

Gabrielle

A former human, now a frost witch mother. I've been playing her for two-ish years.

 

Other Characters

Astrid Oathcast, a young dwarven woman and novice golemancer.

Eulalia Myrtlebloom, a cute little halfling with a propensity toward being eaten by trolls or kidnapped by slavers.

Aravel Sharr, an older dark elf, served a short term in the guard force in Malinor.

Nessa, a cervitaur (deer centaur).

And a sprite.

Elorna: Well, ehm... I've quite a few other encounters that have replaced that particular incident in my nightmares, but it does still come to memory when I'm feeling particularly hard on myself. I wonder what happened to that boy...

Gabrielle: It really depends on the elf. Wood elves tend t' be real gamey, though, so I'd 'ave to say dark elf.

Elorna: I wouldn't say I'm liberal, I actually consider myself to be rather conservative. From elven, druidic standards anyway. I'm not as accepting of the arcane as some... well, 'liberal' druids are. And like the more conservative parties of elves, I don't think elves and humans should mix. But that is out of practicality, rather than racial superiority. No elf should put themselves through the pain of watching a human lover grow old and die.

Gabrielle: Ah, let's see, it all started back when my brother tried joinin' the White Rose... I got dragged along, which at first didn't seem so bad, but every man there started callin' me wh*re, b*tch, 'moor' (whatever that means) and makin' lewd comments 'bout me an' that other southeron, what's 'is name. Ford. They even favored that dark elf maid more than me, a full-blooded human! After that I didn't much fancy men and their attitudes, then me and my brother left the Rose, then my brother left me, and I ended up homeless. That's when my mother found me and brought me into the frost witch fold. So, long story short, it's all the Rose's fault.

Elorna: To be honest, I don't think I've ever met a fire mage I could actually trust.

Gabrielle: Ye got sharp teeth? No? Well then, ye're obviously not edgy enough.

It's been really fun! Sometimes people will metagame or be uncooperative with villainous RP but on the whole it's been enjoyable RP.

They're all nuts.

I actually have, in a couple of different ways. Firstly is the actual roleplay. Interacting with a variety of different characters has broadened my horizons to different perspectives. Secondly is the OOC part, specifically as a forum moderator. I'm in college to be a high school teacher, and the interactions with (mostly) teenage players has probably prepared me in a very small way for some of the challenges that'll come with teaching.

Elorna: I think Ramza is a pleasant man, though I don't know him terribly well. Is he still a mage? If not, well, I suppose my thoughts on him have improved.

Gabrielle: I can't adopt a child, he'd never survive. He'd either freeze t' death in my home or be eaten by Lumia. Anyway, I already 'ave my daughters, an' that's all I need.
