I just feel this wouldn't work for many reasons. As people have said, it splits the playerbase which is not a good idea. Also how would this work with history for instance. If my character was in the future and wanted to read up on medieval history how would he do so if the history was only just being rped on the other server? Also a future where there is no melee combat and only advanced weapons and technology would make for very quick rp as a shot from a gun is going to kill anyone straight out, also a vast majority of some people's rp is in fact sword fighting so you've already lost some rp.

Cool idea, but we have a hard enough time pulling off a fantasy roleplay server, you'd have a harder time running one in the future. Consider how difficult it will be to pull this off.

It's just an idea to deposit for later, nothing more, but if the server is getting jammed every day due to player overload...the time has come XD

I would rather advocate a normal progression if then. I am still waiting for the move into the next era, where feudalism becomes less relevant and the renaissance takes place.

Also, gotta agreed with Ventu. LotC likes to abuse things. A lot.

 

While leaving the passage of time without significant changes to the Descendants, though, is by all means understandable, and the constant necessity of escaping continents and worlds at time kind of puts any progress down before it can rear it's head visibly, small baby steps should still take place. And they usually do. Dwarven steamworks, magical mechanisms... Unless it's all jus' BS, but, don't quote me on any of that, seeing that I shouldn't be openin' my mouth a lot 'round 'ere.

 

For the time being, I'll cross fingers and toes and wait for the long expected renessaince.

Eh.. I mean, one server will fail.. That is a no brainer. You can't combine or make two separate servers with the same goal. Either LotC medieval RP will fail or LotC modern RP will fail.. Why risk it? We have a good setup (besides Megu being mod.. that must change).. and we are all fine. If we wanted to progress into the future, that'd be a definite possibility but we'd have to get 51%+ positivity on it. Why stress this now??
