For The Curious: Information, What's Going On With The Server?

This reddit thread details what's occurring, so if you wish to read such you may to see exactly what's the problem with Mojang at the moment. For those of you that avoid reddit/don't want to click the link here's a small tl;dr;

 

The Mojang servers are, or were, being DDoS'd by a group known as "HOICSquad". This started ~5 hours ago and the servers have been up and down since then, although minecraft session has been down for over two hours

Mojang is actively trying to get the service restored although others seem to be either taking over for HOICSquad or HOICSquad is back at it, they had a twitter account which was suspended after a short period although a secondary group known as "PureAnarchyTeam" (edgy, much wow) has claimed some involvement as well.

 

Tl;dr mojang getting ddosed minecraft and server is kill

Is that reddit summing up themselves, the hackers, or (most accurately) the both? Half the redditors I've met think themselves Anon members. Let them prove it by counter-attacking these inflated douches.
