wolfdwg 2677 Share Posted August 16, 2015 Really all you have to do is add more ram to the server the day or day before a WC then things should just run smoothly.
El Ricktador 1394 Share Posted August 16, 2015 To be honest I like none of the options. Lots of other servers can handle like a hundred people pvping with no problems. Then again, naturally, I don't know much about what's causing the issue, so meh. Give us the server names. Maybe we can ask them how they do it or what hardware they use. Again, the issue being Minecraft more then the server. The server already has 64gbs of RAM.
El Ricktador 1394 Share Posted August 16, 2015 Pretty sure mineplex can handle it with their mega walls, which involves a hundred players fighting. oc.tc can handle numbers near there I think, battling eachother at once. The vast majority of our large maps are 40vs40s or 50vs50s. I'm a moderator on Overcast. LOTC battles aren't 100 people fighting eachother. They're 100 people fighting another 100 people. Telanir 6975 Share Posted August 16, 2015 Really all you have to do is add more ram to the server the day or day before a WC then things should just run smoothly. Ah yes, how could I have forgotten, easy solution. http://downloadmoreram.com/
Cat Evocation 3728 Share Posted August 16, 2015 You know Option 3 is a great Idea if moderated by the GM's correctly, and if one wanted to make Warclaims less PVP Faction server and more interesting add some objectives with Option 3 as well and bam, 10/10 would enjoy WC Better than running into the blob off others and spamming left click. But for the less lag? Yeah Option 3. I CHOOSE DOOR 3. Edit: Ah yes, how could I have forgotten, easy solution. http://downloadmoreram.com/ I love you Telanir
lemontide331 1615 Share Posted August 16, 2015 https://youtu.be/UJqpsd-medo?t=2m37s more than 100ppl here fighting it out, server was capped and probably over 100 spawners mass spawning mobs 0 lag but if i had to go with an option here i'd say #2 bow spam seems to be a big part of the lag on here also lotc is always laggy as well, whenever im on it never has the same feel to it as i get on other servers, there seems to be a constant lag even when it has below 100 players.
leave me alone 995 Share Posted August 17, 2015 Can we get a source on how its a MC problem and not a server problem?
oblivionsbane 714 Share Posted August 17, 2015 It sounds like it is not solely a hardware problem. From what has been said by the techies already it sounds like it is mostly network lag rather than hardware lag. This also makes sense seeing as some people, for some odd reasons, were getting less/more lag yesterday no matter the rig they were playing on (their internet connection was better/worse). In other words it is a mixture of the server clogging its own network/bandwidth and shortcomings in the player-side internet connection.

Corvoo 562 Share Posted August 17, 2015 Options 1 and 3 sound best to me. The idea of objectives would be nice, especially from a roleplay perspective. I definitely don't think that nothing should be done, and just put up with lag.
