Hello everyone, you may call me Gaeuvyen, or Gaeu for short. I'm pretty new around here. Found this server when looking for a roleplaying server to play with my friend. It looks amazing even without me even applying yet. The wiki just looks so organized and the webdesign is amazing. Shows how well the administration is running the server as well as their dedication to it. I haven't gotten around to reading through the lore, because to be honest it's pretty overwhelming at first, but I'm sure once I really get into it it will be breeze. Even the rules makes me feel like this server will be a great roleplaying community and that's something I'm really interested in. I also noticed the map and was happy to see that it looked hand-crafted rather than just randomly generated like most minecraft servers.

I have some questions that my friend wanted to ask as well. I read through the rules and noticed that it did mention not leaving things that defy the laws of physics like underground strip mines, but my friend is still worried that there won't be much building on this server because the map looks hand-crafted. He and I also would like to know how the magic system will actually work and how many races can use it. I'd also like to know how strict the skin rules are, I know it has to look like the race the character is, but when it comes to hair, skin tone, and clothing, where do the lines start and end for what is acceptable? I like to make my own skins, though none of the skins I have made before finding this server would be acceptable since they don't fit the races or any other lore, so I really want to know what I can and cannot get away with on skins. Is there a gallery of generally accepted skins other than skin repositories?

There is lots of empty space, but there is also lots of gorgeous builds. You can log on as a wandering soul and fly around the map to see it.

It's deep and intricate. The basic part is to learn magic you need a teacher, and you need to get a magic application accepted. There are lots of rules and nuances, but that's it at the most basic part.

Also, all the main races can use any magic.

There aren't specific guidelines. If you want blue hair, you can have it. If you want wings, you can't, because that requires a bunch of lore.

When you post an application, the app team member will tell you if the skin is acceptable or not. If you post a picture of one here, we could probably guess if it was good or nah.

Ooo, this is wonderful news. I like that, and I'm sure my friend will like it as well.

Would prosthetic wings work (not that I'd make a skin like that anyway)? Like just some wood and cloth to make it look like wings that aren't functional, or other things like that? I'd probably not do any of that stuff anyway but it would be nice to know for the future. They would just be visual flair and be non functional in roleplaying, it might be a stretch still but doesn't hurt to ask right?

I'm going to warn you in advance, the odder your character's appearance (anime-esque things for instance), the more likely you'll have problems with some folks randomly ganking your character. Or making OOCly snide comments, so just prepare for that. Take screenshots if it's overboard in your opinion and don't let those type of ***** rain on your parade.

But to answer your question, it wouldn't be rulebreaking to have fake things like that.

One last question. When it comes to the lore and all that, what parts are really necessary to make a character so I can focus on that knowledge first and work on my character so I don't break the immersion.

I would say just make sure you know the physical limitations and appearance of your race, make sure to RP your respective racial curse.

And a tip I like to give to all new players: Don't try to be the hero! It's easy to get into the "main character of this RPG" mentality that you get coming off of the witcher, skyrim, dragon age, etc. But remember you are but one character in a world of hundreds of others. Theres nothing wrong with being 'normal', and often times it's more fun and more rewarding than trying to be the chosen one.

Me as well, and any questions on the forums, wiki or the application process. Welcome to the community and I hope you enjoy your stay.

Well, the fact that you're introducing yourself and making sure you understand things is already putting you ahead of most new players. It seems your questions have already been answered, so welcome, and good luck.

Innocence is a beautiful thing.

Concerning what you can do with your character use the guidelines for your character's race to build up from there but don't be afraid ((Beyond like someone said previously the odder you are/more anime like the more likely you will be insulted. Can't please everyone <3)) to make adjustments. Cosmetic changes such as my character's blue hair don't require lore as it doesn't do anything but honestly like Leo said try to be normal.

It's a ton more fun that way!
