A Butchery in Riga

A sweet summers day in Riga, children playing in the fields, merchants swindling and bartering, the rabble of the townfolk as they go about their daily affairs, even the sight of young children pick-pocketing the wealthy is a welcome sight on such a day as this, carts with foods and spices of all sorts fill the air, attracting all sorts of wildlife in the city, dogs, cats, several of the local orphans, however the Inn stays quiet, and has been for the most part of the day, some form of ruccus being heard earlier on which most thought to be simply sore winners boasting their gambling prowess, however only two men left out of the three that entered. A sudden screech could be heard from the Inn, a woman screaming in fright and disgust, among many was the feeling of confusion, bewilderment and caution while the city guards marched with haste to the source of the eery sound, seemingly out of place on such a fine day, the inn was now a bustling hub, all sorts entering to see what all the fuss was about, only to regret it quite instantly, past the upstairs, down in the depths of the Gambling Inn came a foul stench that drowned out all of the sweet and savoury scents that came with the pleasant summers day, among the stench was the sound of buzzing, flies, and hordes of them, among entering the room a harsh sight can be seen, an impaled and badly beaten body lays in the corner of the room, furniture all about, sprawled across the abode along with the broken and torn decorations were bits of entrails and spits of a crimson red ooze staining all around the well lit room, making the scene all the more horrid, the man looks to be a ranger of sorts, wearing a cloak and mask, his body bloodied and broken, his mina puch empty and the sword from his belt gone, an obivous fight had occurred here, and not a very one sided one, the fight looked to have last a while, both sides losing enough blood to fill a milk bucket. However, though the crime obvious, what was the reasoning for this, why had this man been killed, what caused the fight, is this a one off fling, or is there a crazed blood thirsty killer loose in the city of Riga?
