DrakeHaze. 2524 Share Posted October 29, 2015 Going to start with a quick rant before I get to the good stuff pertaining to the title. I went around during peak time today and yesterday, took numbers of how all towns and such are doing based on players in that area (I also checked during the europe timezones today, so yea). For the most part the docks had the highest activity in players, about 12 or so players standing around rping. Other places, including capitals had around 7 or less, then the outliers like dunamis had between 10-12, maybe more when raids are about to go on. I assume the other 100 players are off mining, in their own houses or in the ocean somewhere because I could not find them in the easier to reach places. During my adventure for players I saw an event go on, I thought "hell yea let me partake in this delectable rp" only to find out that.. That would be a horrible decision as it was an event aimed for a specific group of players. I didn't like that too much, took a quick names at those present and without name dropping I will just say about 4/7 people there were staff. So you get where im about to go now.. Firstly my proposition is for all of you; the players. Maybe some of you don't care, like how things are or want something to do, whatever. My proposition is a vanilla player-run event squad."But DrakeHaze that is what the ET are for?!" Ummmm.. What ET?"Wow you are just so rude, they are busy with reformations and stuff! Don't you pay attention to the forums!?" True, however I personally don't care. Also I hate the current forums lmao.The goal is to not have to rely on staff for events, not have to wait for their stories to be accepted or for a babysitter to swing on by and watch. This is volunteer work, just like staff. You don't get a fancy colored title, you are restricted as you are just a player, however as a player you still have all your current resources and the like. I asked earlier if I could do an event for my own friends, as I myself am a bit bored and wanted to liven up the place a bit."You can aslong as the event isn't outside things you do normally", well okay I can manage that a bit umm can I rp as some common monster? "Do you have your monster app accepted?" Uhh...I then thought to myself, well I could just go get that app done and over with for the event but then.. What would I do with it after that? Those of you that want to do player-run events, have accepted monster apps or whatever, or even have a group of friends that want a little spice to your regular daily rp I urge you to look into this and give your feedback. Some of you may think this isn't needed for various reasons, I mean I could just go along with my event for friends and that would be it. What about other people that are bored and want something done? Should they just do the same and accept it as is?Nah, I think we could do more as players with what we have at our disposal instead of relying on colorful nametags.Player Event SquadPlayers that wish to give back, have fun and encourage progress through RP to the community. Volunteering some time to host or take part in RP as players for /everyones/ enjoyment. They agree to follow all server rules and follow the LoTC mission statement. Members can be asked by groups to host or take part in their RP events, aswell they can ask groups if they would be permitted to host an event for their group under express permission and agreement that the event planned would be fun for all. Timezones are restrictive to some but not all, this is to be kept in mind for everyone so don't get sad.I believe this idea is in good taste for old and new players alike, I personally don't know who can RP as a Troll or other monster that I could ask, know when they are online or are even available. I don't always have the time to modreq and wait 4 hours for a yes or no response. It is a good thing for everyone to know. As this is mainly a proposition, there are no 'title roles' such as team leader and what. Couldn't care much for such but it could be needed at some point if this were to take off. Please readers leave comments and feedback below, if you are interested in such a thing and would like to take part in this.. But in all seriousness I do like the idea of players taking initiative in creating stories for themselves, not waiting for the staff to spoon feed them. ET should be there for just that- events.
