I am not a fan of the magic plugin, so this doesn't bother me, really.

If this were true you could also make do with 0 spells and represent magic with armor+weapon of your choosing + potion of mending for the heal part. This also prevents any balancing issues. The thunderbluff experiment has already been done.

Honestly I'd prefer no magic plugin anyways, as it's just another pvp/rpg crutch holding up and supporting things that aren't RP on an RP server (or at least a server that claims to be RP but really, really isn't at it's core) so at least in that regard you lot have left me rather satisfied, not like I ever believed you'd put out a magic plugin anyways.

I for one would like to see these scrapped plugins and also this plugin apparently Telanir was showing off.  

You already have lol, I had a magic plugin finished a year and a half ago with a showcase and beta-test season before–actually you specifically–with the druids declared there must be no magic plugin if it doesn't support secluded/restricted subtypes. Beyond that the several pages of complaints gave me an idea of what lied in the future so it was never released, when Vaq, Alec, Dgco, myself, Sporadic and Kalen all make magic plugins and eventually come to the exact same conclusions it is by no coincidence.

Magic lore, is broken and incompatible with a plugin. You can't write a plugin that ignores the lore because then you will be pitchforked, but by virtue of accommodating server lore: you cannot create an enjoyable, balanced plugin.

And no, saturating off-sourced Bukkit coders (who are likely inexperienced and non-roleplaying) with money isn't going to solve our problem, it'll only empty our pockets.

It's good we all agree that no magic plugin is best magic plugin I just wish you weren't so salty about it :\

The magic plugin is infamous vaporware I can agree on that... but so was the profession plugin, until it wasn't. Instead of just assuming all techs so far have been incompetent/lazy/abusive maybe there's actually something to what Kalen is telling us in the OP.
