I don't like the idea of plot owners being able to turn off pvp. Its a too easy way to protect yourself from raiders.

Your idea to let a region decay sounds great in my opinion! I also think that ownership should be based of persona's.

Why bother trying to code and create a plugin when there is a chance that no one will want to use it. You're going to anger yourself when you find out that most of the community would rather stick with the current system.

This reminds me of what happened with MATs/VATs a while back. Ask the community whether they want a nexus regions redux before you actually make it.

Perhaps a 'should we remain on worldguard' option ought to be available, also...

The thing is... sometimes the staff or teams know what's better for the server in general even if it might go against popular vote, and I might think this is an option. From the sounds of it there's nothing wrong with something potentially better than what we have. If it ever turns out that it's a massive disaster then I think Why would know and accept that, and remove it. Who knows, we might all like it and it might make regioning better, and no one can deny that there are weird things with worldguard that could be solved with a plugin.

Also, I'd like to change my vote from persona to player after reading how it can be abused :/

Just with the same could be said for magic :*(

I read the post, and I'm sorry if I'm being a bit slow, but does this mean we can claim plots that are not mechanically controlled by nations? Meaning, with this plugin, we can claim land without making a charter application/guild application?

It'll integrate with existing mechanisms, but it'll make it easier to submit a claim. We created the system you mentioned in our previous map and it caused a lot of problems, likely the amount of nation-independent plots will be few and far between. Up to the moderation team how they want to handle it, it'll be mainly Moderator controlled.

As long as it is reliable, doesn't implement the player count, doesn't require a rule change (48 hour PvP switch) I would be down. The pillar streamlined the region system and made it much easier to regulate who was and wasn't supposed to be on the region.

However that is NL kitten. GM kitten doesn't want his world-guard freedom to be tampered with. I have a very strong understanding of world guard and I am able to handle region requests while double-tasking other things. I need a system that I can easily work with as a moderator so when players need assistance I can tell them "It's this because of this."

I have not read all the comments, some if someone has already said this, I am sorry.

on the issue of turning pvp off, I agree that it would be abused during raids as well as in a no pvp area, people refusing pvp default (although if you intended for pvp default refusal to finally be able to happen, thank you so much). I think that instead owners should be able to set a percentage of damage received in the area by all who are in the area (not just members). This action would also have a cool down. It would max at 100% and min at 10, 15, or 20. This would keep the sides even, because everyone's received damage is scaled equally, so the ratio of hits needed to kill the opposition is the same.

On top of that, an additional compensation would be that weapons used for combat lose durability on the same scale, however, this might cause complications, as axes and shovels when not used for pvp would have to lose durability on a normal scale, as to prevent exploitation to make tools last longer.

Tbh, I wouldn't mind if there were no-pvp areas around dedicated towards rp and wuch, like merchants quarters. Of course that requires some thought, like a higher tax system so those lands can actually be worth something and not just a "Hurdur safety land". It wouldn't mean the area wouldn't be impossible to raid on, it would just mean that people would actually have a place to rp or anything similar at places without having to carry armor and weapons on the from all the previous bad expiriences.

Oh... the PvP cooldown means turning off PvP, period, with a 48 hour cooldown on reversing that decision. Oh **** yes, change my vote to that too. I think I didn't quite understand some of the questions at the time for some reason, I thought the PvP thing was like a short duration because a part of my brain didn't even register the possibility of turning off PvP period.

I retract any statement I made on that subject because I didn't know at the time.

If donation plots are ever a thing again, the donator should have the right to establish, as a donator to the server, whether they want PvP turned on or off. Someone should be able to dictate how they want to play on the server without breaking rules and without getting in other peoples way. Locations will become RP hubs, and other locations currently on the server can remain war fortresses when it comes to PvP.

For the people who see this as an assault towards their means of PvP on the server, don't worry. There is a large proportion of you on the server, and there will always be locations that can be raided, regardless of whether the rule is implemented or not, it just means your options are limited. Or in the very least, you can still bandit those plots, but you must do so in RP, still getting your minas and pixels.

I'm all for it, and know a lot of people would be too.
