Lyra's diplomats would return with word from the Half-Ogres. They send an offer of alliance, allowing for strength in numbers, and they would assist with all beast taming needs. The council gathers together to discuss the offer. After a short duration, the diplomats and their guards head back to the Half-Ogres, now given permission to accept offered deal.

The Library and Smithies now finished, the Researchers (20) resume their work, studying the books.

The scouts return to Grus, and pass along the knowledge of the Large Scorpions. Having attended the council meeting, he tells the scouts to mark the location of the map, and hand the location to the diplomats, so the Half-Ogres can begin taming the Large Scorpions. They also bring news of a strange circular ring, which Grus brings to the council's attention. Remembering the stone circle that Yrda had found, Arcus decided that this must now be a coincidence, and begins plans for to examine the circle, once the practice fields, and mines are finished.

As the Grey figure enter their camp, several wolf-tiers (Tiers in wolf form) would run up to the figure, and sniff at him. He would attempt to nudge them away, but when they wouldn't move, he would kick out at them. They would back off, growling at him, and every Tier in sight would turn into a bear or wolf. The Treue would leave his tent at this point, and lift his hand. The Tiers would slowly stop growling, and move aside for the Treue.

"I know not what you are, nor do I care to. Your hostility against my brethren has not endeared you to us. I have yet to meet these dragons, though I have no doubt they will be more agreeable to my people, compared to you. I ask you to leave, and to not return."

The figure would not curtly, and fly away. The wolf-tiers would just be able to catch angered muttering from the creature, as it flew away. Once they were sure the creature was gone, the Tiers would return to their daily lives.

(Mod Needed)

The Augen would attempt diplomacy once more, this time having the twenty he sent remain in human forms, in attempt to pacify the snake-people. He would also send the rest of his men to meet the orcish clan, in the hopes of opening a diplomatic channel to them as well.

The Gelehrte was told to send 20 of his people, this time as wolves, in an attempt to guide the deer towards the city, where they could be captured, and domesticated, for easier study. The remaining 30 would be lying in wait, to capture the deer.

The Verwalten would dedicate 75 people to building farms, so that his 75 gatherers could be directed into other jobs.

The Ritter would continue to have his 60 men patrol, in the same system, so far used.

Meanwhile back in the island, expansion and recreation of new villages continues to grow, along with the knowledge of iron and soon a new production begins among the weapon smiths.

Thralm and his advisers sit in the meeting hall when a scout swiftly makes his way through the great hall and presents a report to Thralm "Forgive me Warchief, but I bring important news from the Southern Village. Thralm accepts the report and skims through it quickly "A vessel? Did you see who?" the scout shakes his head "No Warchief, we were unable to make out those who commanded the Vessel, what are your orders?" Thralm thinks to himself for a few minutes "If they've not approached, then they seek to meet on there own terms. Send a few extra men back with you and keep the guards on high alert." The Scout accepts the command running out of the hall.

La'kir and his fellow students look down into the Cavern with awe and curiosity, he and the other students search through the city along with some guards as they seek to discover anything of use to the expedition or the Horde. "This is truly the remnants of an empire.."

With the training field finally finished, it was time to break it in, with a match Arcus had been waiting weeks for. Finally, Hyo had managed to reach a level where Arcus felt Hyo would be safe enough, if they attempted to fight. Arcus takes a deep breath, and steps onto the field, a massive grin plastered on his face. Across the field, Hyo wears a similiar grin, ready to test the full expanse of his full might. Arcus cracks his neck, and calls out to Hyo.

Arcus: Ready, Hyo? I don't want you to be able to say I beat you because you weren't ready.

Hyo: As if you'll beat me! You may win, in your dreams, but this is reality!

Arcus: Bold words, apprentice! Brak, keep an eye out for foul play.

Brak nods, and shouts out for the fight to begin.

The fight lasts for twenty minutes, with neither being able to gain the upperhand. The increased reflexes, the heightened perception, the increased strength and speed... neither could land a solid blow. However, before long, Arcus managed to hit Hyo with a blow that knocked him just enough off balance, that Arcus could capitalize. Arcus grabbed Hyo by the arm, and flung him across the field, knocking the wind out of him. The blow was so fierce that Hyo lost his concentration, and Beast Soul slipped away. Rendered powerless, Hyo had lost the fight. Arcus lifted Hyo gingerly, and carried him back to his hut, where he could rest for a while.

Arcus: That was a good fight Hyo. I trained you well.

Hyo: That you did, Arcus. That you did.

Arcus left Hyo alone, and went back to his hut, so he could rest as well, leaving the council duties to the others for a while. Or he would have, except one of the group he had sent to explore the other side of the circle had returned with big news. The circle had teleported some of the Custos to another place. Arcus, hearing this, had no choice but to report it to the Council, so he slowly made his way to the council building, and sat in his chair, his body racked with pain.

As the council came through the door, and took their seat, they congratulated Arcus for his amazing fight. Quickly they went through the usual motions, Jis informing the council of the population increase, and of the discovery of the runeforging knowledge the final book they had taken from the box held.

Lyra also informed the council of the expansion of the farms.

Finally Arcus spoke. He told them of the stone circle, and how it had proven to be a portal to another place. He also told them Hyo's group had finished the mines, and workers would be needed. Arcus also mentioned that with his first apprentice finally trained, he would soon take another, and Hyo would also take an apprentice. At this, Brak asked that he and Weth be taught Beast Soul, so that they might pass it along to the soldiers. Arcus agrees, and says that Brak will be taught by him, and Hyo will teach Weth, so long as Brak and Weth agree to train Arcus and Hyo in combat, so that they may also capitalize on it. Brak agrees, and so the deal is struck.

The council discussed the stone circle, and decided that it would be safest to send scouts through, to see what the conditions were like on the other side, and if it was safe enough, the possibility of expanding through the portal came up. It was also decided that expansion on this side of the portal would need to be handled quickly, due to the recent increase of people.

Imperium of Pars

Battle of Shield River

Prince Arslan returned to his camp after primary negotiations, immediately ordering for his commanders to convene. Weighing his options, Arslan realised he was in a lopsided position to actually trade. Resources was scarce within his lands, he could not afford diplomacy without invoking the ire of his commanders and most importantly, his people.

With a heavy heart, Arslan had his warriors surround the ogres encampment by nightfall. The ogres could only put a mere fight before being completely snuffed out of all fighting spirit, which few that did survive were quickly imprisoned. After scavenging the remains of the ogre’s camp, Arslan let his army back to Pars.

The prince could not forget the look of betrayal the imprisoned ogres showed.

Proclamation of The Imperium of Pars

Sycamore_Hollow.jpg

Amidst jubilation following victory over the ogres, Prince Arslan announced the official name for the new nation, now home to over a thousand vaulters.

A system of technocracy for governance persisted, with new officials appointed through meritocracy via their merits and skills. Pars is heralded as the Crown City and ambitious construction projects is started.

One is the establishment of a naval port capable of harbouring naval craft, due to its extensive nature much of skilful workforce is assigned here. (( 10 posts ))

Construction of schools throughout the Imperium and a unified school curriculum(( 5 posts ))

Creation of The University of Pars, specialising in maritime, warfare and agricultural studies. The aim was simple, to amalgamate scholarly knowledge and pursuits in the three most important fields of studies within the Imperium (( 5 posts ))

Research into a type of extremely flammable liquid( Essentially greek fire) (( Mod required; post unknown)

Maiden Voyage of the first naval craft and Creation of the Parsian Navy.

At a remote sandbank near the capital, a group of researchers would be engrossed in their calculations and figures. In front of them, an improvised flotation naval craft capable of carrying up to twenty men. It harnessed the use of wind energy through its sails and was even silent and well suited for taking on the large waves which ruled the great sea beyond them. Arslan, hiding his lack of sleep through the use of white powder, ceremoniously nailed the crest of the naval coat of arms onto it.

A dozen ships is swiftly commissioned to form the first fleet. (( 5 posts ))

Creation of the Parsian Army

Similarly to the navy, a coat of arms was issued for the army. One of Arslan’s most trusted advisors, Lucifer of Das was appointed as the Marshal of the army. In charge of a mere two hundred force, Lucifer embarked on an aggressive recruitment campaign. Lucifer’s request for an edict of conscription was rejected by Arslan, and instead had to rely on establishing army branches in various major towns.

The two dozen men sent on the scouting mission prior to the ogre campaign is appointed as Arslan’s royal guards.

A crisis quickly averted

The Dreadlord is invited to Arslan’s court, and his warnings are earnestly heard. However, after being dismissed, a messenger is sent to the dragon resting within Pars and it is told about the visit. Arslan added his own concerns on the dragon’s intentions in helping his people.

The woes of a prince

Intrigue, war, politics and an uncertain future.

Arslan did not know how he should feel, his heart arched at the contempt he faced through the eyes of the defeated. His mind raced at the words of the dreadlord. Retreating to his bedroom, he confined himself to be alone at night. It was not too long ago that he was like any other normad wild walker child, he could only reminisce about better days amongst the free wilds. It was certainly a happier time but, his mother had been with him then. Arslan curled into a ball in his bed, crying throughout the night.

Expansion happens!

A total of 450 vaulters would find themselves propping up new towns and farming grounds.

As the Treue overlooked the city, the Augen came over to him. "Sir, neither the Snake-People, nor the orcs were friendly. Both groups chased us away, and even followed us back towards the city. We were able to lose them, but they did manage to see the city, we think. We should prepare defenses, in case either group attacks."

The Treue nods, and send a message to the Ritter to have defenses prepared.

HORDE OF THE VALE

Thralm paces in the great hall furious over the actions of the lone dragon, fuming with anger. "How dare they! We've done nothing!.." Kraguk stands in his iron armor with his Axe slung over his shoulder "Then we should send a message!" Thralm looks to Kraguk "Indeed we should, I shall do so personally.." he walks over to Karguk planting a hand on his shoulder "I as Warchief of the Horde, proclaim you as my High General, Karguk Black-Iron. Do you accept this honor?"

Karguk drops to a knee, resting the head of his Demonic Axe into the ground "I do Warchief, I will lead our armies to Honor and Glory!" Thralm nods "Move to the Southern settlement...Harvest the Dragon's body, bring it back here for study..." Karguk stands and marches off gathering his men as they move to the Southern Village as its under construction they begin harvesting the dragons corpse.

After the incident Thralm calls for an immediate council with Vasla and Drahk'jul, After the meeting the majority agree that the Dragons have forced their hand, Thralm however refuses to fully side with the Demons.

The Beginning of the End

As the Horde's peoples and armies meet within the Ancient City, an evil stirs below. La'kir has gone missing below the city, he and several orcs seem to have gone completely mad before vanishing deep within the city.

Thralm, Karguk, Vasla and Drahk arrive at the city with their own respective forces, the bulk of them working to establish the settlement, the four of them travel down into the depths of the city in search for their lost brothers.

La'kir sits in a locked room with the others "They'll find us...THEY WILL FIND US!.." La'kir lashes out at him "Calm yourself!..." he looks to the book as he turns to the wall, 3 dead orcs lay dead as he writes connecting symbols across the wall in their blood "Soon...very soon...they will arrive...and I shall show Thralm and the Dragons what this world truly needs..." he begins chanting incoherently as he continues to draw the circle.
