Imam Faiz Kharadeen 3167 Share Posted December 3, 2015 Time has passed, and Duridal has forseen an age of darkness and gloom. The once lively city cut short of all activity after what could be presumed as a depression. It has been rumored their leader has given up the reigns to allow for another to take hold, but who is truly worthy to serve their people, to guide them into a golden age?Khalestine's high council has decided to get involved and has offered applications to those that wish to apply as Duridal's newest leader. An individual that may reorganize the government structure and continue with the finishing of the city and the bringing of citizenry. Those that apply would have their applications hung about Duridal and surrounding areas for current citizens to read and to decide who it is they will vote for in the coming election. Within the town hall of Duridal, a Qalasheen man would be handing out applications to those that ask, the application would read the following questions... ==========================================================================================~+~Application for Leadership of Duridal~+~ Name(MC name in parenthesis):Age:Gender:Faith: How long have you been with Duridal?: Why should you be chosen as Duridal's newest leader?: Do you believe you can continue its former legacy and ensure your people's safety and happiness?: What are your first motions to pass if you became leader?:==========================================================================================Heil Vandoria, Heil Khalestine, Heil Duridal.
Aelu / Rel (Combustionary) 1540 Share Posted December 3, 2015 Name(MC name in parenthesis): Relgard Sintel (Darkdragon274)Age: 488Gender: MaleFaith: None How long have you been with Duridal?: I was a citizen of Aeroch Nor, but left after it fell to Orenian hands. Why should you be chosen as Duridal's newest leader?: I am experienced in both governing as well as managing. I've controlled a number of settlements over the years. In Aegis, I was the head of security for the small town of Corvus Animas. In Asulon, after marrying an Orenian Countess, I held dominion over the towns of Aliquam Purus, Bowshire, Halberad, and Sanctum. In Anthos I was, effectively, the second in command below Darius during the days of the Conclave of Malin. My experience in managing people and resources is substantial. Duridal needs to be built, and it needs to be made into something. Those are two things I've done before. Do you believe you can continue its former legacy and ensure your people's safety and happiness?: I believe I can raise the city from the incomplete foundation it is now to a strong, well populated hub of commerce. I would establish a trade to make the city wealthy, and a martial force to make it safe. What are your first motions to pass if you became leader?: Aside from fully designing and constructing the city, I would begin to expand on its value to the nation. The fields surrounding the city are ripe for horse breeding, as well as animals of all sorts. Once the city is established I would further our economical goals by creating the infrastructure needed to support the horse trade.
Bvie 1754 Share Posted December 3, 2015 Application for Leadership of Duridal~+~ Name(MC name in parenthesis): Trade Princess Lilyana (SquirtGun)Age: 26Gender: FemaleFaith: None How long have you been with Duridal?: I was the sole provider of resources - both building wise and iron wise - that was traded/sold/given to Aeroch'nor from Sutica during its early days, as well as during the potential swamp Orc attack. Once it fell to Oren, trade and talks ceased between us. Why should you be chosen as Duridal's newest leader?: Aside from having experience with having your home taken from you and having to restart elsewhere (See "Salvian Rebelion"), I have experience with leading a town of like minded individuals to a better, peaceful life. Working behind the scenes as Sutica's main resource provider during its early days around an oasis, the city never truly flourished and became what it was meant to be, similarly as to what Duridal appears to have become - nothing but one wall and a single castle/fort that is void of any life. With little time and much dedication, as well as financial backing, Sutica has not only moved, but grown at least double from what it once was. People come daily, interested in joining our city and looking forward to enjoy our peaceful way of life, something that the citizens of Aeroch'nor originally sought. Do you believe you can continue its former legacy and ensure your people's safety and happiness?: I believe I can give the citizens, the few -if any- that remain, what they're looking for: peace and freedom. Sutica is founded on similar beliefs that originally founded Aeroch'nor. We wish to continue their ability to study what they wish, live as they wish, and flourish in a safe environment. While I cannot promise you a grand wall that protects your empty city, I can promise you your freedoms, beliefs, and lives will always be yours. What are your first motions to pass if you became leader?: In all seriousness, the first thing I would do would be to move Duridal's citizens out of their empty, defenseless plot. I would salvage what resources we could from the buildings, tear down the wall, and use them to help create a new home across the way in Sutica, where trade has been established, freedoms exist, food is plentiful, and most importantly, their are people and activities. While I understand this may not be what is wanted, you neither want an empty city behind a wall. It will neither give you the life you truly seek or give you (and the Caliphate) the protection it seeks.

YouKnowItsJuno 269 Share Posted December 3, 2015 Name (MC name in parenthesis): Rajiya al-Shamrani (YouKnowItsJuno)Age: 25Gender: FemaleFaith: The Righteous Faith (Traditional Qalasheen Religion) Why should you be chosen as Duridal's newest leader?: I have shown great dedication in organizing, maintaining, and creating events at the Grand Library. I believe that though I have little experience running a city, I work often with Decimus and Faiz, and believe that with their council and obtaining the proper people to help build and delegate jobs to (such as stewards, tavern keeps, advisors, etc.), I can do the job and do it well. I have observed from the many cities I've visited in my travels and interacted with those in positions of power, and I believe I know what a fair but just leader looks like. Besides what I've learned in my travels, I want to go back to the Qalasheen roots of Khalestine and create laws that honor said culture while also opening arms to the ideas and cultures of Valior. Should I be chosen, I will delegate my duties at the Grand Library by training a few new librarians and serving as management while working on the city and on the library. Do you believe you can continue its former legacy and ensure your people's safety and happiness?: Yes; I believe that I can create a sense of purpose for the people of Duridal and promote commerce and fellowship, while at the same time protecting its people from danger and providing a strategic checkpoint and reinforcements should the capital city of Al-Wahkrah fall under siege. What are your first motions to pass if you became leader?:The construction of homes, a market, a religious sanctuary, guild-houses, barracks, etc.The formation of a small council to aid in the government of the city and the hiring of builders and laborers to build the cityThe creation of laws that fall closely in line with the national laws of Vandoria and KhalestineThe establishment of a levy/guard force in times of war and for defenseThe cultivation of surrounding land (particularly along the river) for crops and livestock (to provide amble trade for Vandoria/Khalestine cities)The purification of the land (just to make it look nice; too many cities today are cluttered and not aesthetically pleasing)The establishment of an exclusive Scholar's Guild to work closely with the Grand Library of Al-Wahkrah to enrich and enlighten all of Valior

ARCHITECUS 4788 Share Posted December 3, 2015 Name(MC name in parenthesis):Tim of Locklear (Alterazgohg)Age:ThirtyGender:MaleFaith:Canonist How long have you been with Duridal?: I've never been with Duridal, but I know the people well. I love them. I rent apartments to people in Duridal. Why should you be chosen as Duridal's newest leader?: I'm a rich and successful businessman who knows what's good for the economy. I know my stuff, and don't let these other lightweights convince you otherwise. Do you believe you can continue its former legacy and ensure your people's safety and happiness?: Yes. Let's make Duridal great again. What are your first motions to pass if you became leader?: "Wow. Whoa. That is some group of druids. Thousands. So nice, thank you very much. That’s really nice. Thank you. It’s great to be at the Druids' Grove. It’s great to be in a wonderful city, Khalestine. And it’s an honor to have everybody here. This is beyond anybody’s expectations. There’s been no crowd like this. And, I can tell, some of the candidates, they went in. They didn’t know the air-conditioner didn’t work. They sweated like dogs.(LAUGHTER)They didn’t know the room was too big, because they didn’t have anybody there. How are they going to beat Dunamis? I don’t think it’s gonna happen.(APPLAUSE)Our country is in serious trouble. We don’t have victories anymore. We used to have victories, but we don’t have them. When was the last time anybody saw us beating, let’s say, Urguan in a trade deal? They kill us. I beat Urguan all the time. All the time.(APPLAUSE)When did we beat Haelunor at anything? They send their carriages over by the millions, and what do we do? When was the last time you saw a Chevrolet in Haelunor? It doesn’t exist, folks. They beat us all the time. When do we beat the Orcs at the border? They’re laughing at us, at our stupidity. And now they are beating us economically. They are not our friend, believe me. But they’re killing us economically. The Duridal has become a dumping ground for everybody else’s problems.(APPLAUSE)Thank you. It’s true, and these are the best and the finest. When the Uzg sends its people, they’re not sending their best. They’re not sending you. They’re not sending you. They’re sending people that have lots of problems, and they’re bringing those problems with us. They’re bringing drugs. They’re bringing crime. They’re raiders. And some, I assume, are good people. But I speak to border guards and they tell us what we’re getting. And it only makes common sense. It only makes common sense. They’re sending us not the right people. It’s coming from more than the Uzg. It’s coming from all over South Vailor, and it’s coming probably — probably — from the Caliphate. But we don’t know. Because we have no protection and we have no competence, we don’t know what’s happening. And it’s got to stop and it’s got to stop fast.(APPLAUSE)Qalasheen terrorism is eating up large portions of the Caliphate. They’ve become rich. I’m in competition with them. They just built a hotel in the Reich. Can you believe this? They built a hotel. When I have to build a hotel, I pay interest. They don’t have to pay interest, because they took the iron that, when we left Urguan, I said we should’ve taken. So now Dunamis has the oil, and what they don’t have, the Caliphate has. And in 19 — and I will tell you this, and I said it very strongly, years ago, I said — and I love the military, and I want to have the strongest military that we’ve ever had, and we need it more now than ever. But I said, “Don’t hit the Caliphate,” because you’re going to totally destabilize the it. Dunamis is going to take over the Caliphate, Dunamis and somebody else will get the iron, and it turned out that Dunamis is now taking over the Caliphate. Think of it. Dunamis is taking over Caliphate and they’re taking it over big league.I told you all about what would happen, and know it's coming true. I know how to stop it, and I'm the only one who's going to stop it. If I get elected, I'll bring back the Druids bigger and better and stronger than ever before, and we will make Duridal great again. Thank you. Thank you very much.(APPLAUSE)
