I would say yes and answer all the questions but honestly, you WILL **** it up so no.

Edit: I literally have 0% confidence in an antagonist bieng done well by any group of people for an extended period of time.

I love lotc but there's two problems that bug me the most ooc and pvp. ooc for me only happens so badly at player driven combat, there's always this one guy that does something this over guy doesn't like then the power of ooc consumes the rp then it leads into the dreaded pvp default which mostly relies on how enchanted your butter knife is .

we need less ooc and pvp.

As a new player, while I don't think the systems need to be dumbed down, I would like a more thorough tutorial for how to use skills and what they're for, as well as some examples of rp skills like magic and runesmithing.

LoTC In General:

What do you like about LoTC?

The lore is definitely interesting, and i like the realism with certain things. In another rp server i used to play on, no one could rob another or lockpick into a fellow players house. It was to calm and unrealistic, like a stepford community without the secret murdering.

What do you dislike about LoTC?

Lately i've seen people metaing or powergaming and getting away with it because no one wants to be the bad guy. Plus the dependence everyone has on skype. I was once accepted into a guild but once the guy found out i couldn't get skype he rejected me, and this has happened a few times now.

What is something LoTC needs to do more of?

Events! I love being part of events whether i'm only there to cater since my char is a caterer, or i'm there as a participant. I love getting to interact with other players icly during events and would love if there was more of that, it seems as if no one has heard of a festival on here because i haven't found one yet but would think it'd be cool to have a spring festival with music, stalls, and games.

What should LoTC do less?

Hmm, i guess OOC? I will admit im guilty of getting distracted and talking oocly with the guy i'm rping with but it'd be great to have more rp. I've seen rp servers slowly decline because of the insane amount of ooc conversation happening, and i don't want that to happen with lotc.

What did you like specifically about previous maps?

Haven't been here long enough to see previous maps, unfortunately i've only been here since August.

What would be interesting to see in a future map?

More intricate cities. I love the cities now, i do, but it'd be cool for the cities to each have something very special about them. My favorite cities are Kal'Akash and the wood elven city because it has such a unique appeal, Kal'akash is this cool city in a cave with a canal inside, and roads that lead to different things like homes, a dining hall, and more. The wood elven city is just, god i love that. The gardens, little cabins, and apartment buildings. Even the tavern is completely different with their self serve system.

What keeps you coming back to the server?

Mainly my friends. This server has been a great platform to meet great people whom i like to call my friends, if i didn't have them on this server i wouldn't have fully grown to love this server. I love the intricate workbench system and the variety it gives to items. Cooking is a whole other ballgame and stonemasonary is a lot of fun. The uniqueness of the system helps keep me coming back too, but its mainly my friends ^_^.

Events and Interaction:

Does LoTC need an antagonist?

Yes! But from what i've heard Iblees has been overdone so maybe something new? Maybe someone who yes, wishes for ultimate power over Vailor, but is not Iblees. Maybe someone who has extreme power and causes things like famine and disease over Vailor but still has a uniqueness to them that differs them from Iblees

Do you think LoTC needs more incentive to explore?

Yes! There is the whole pirate crew now but i do know there is a plugin to make ships move, i can't remember it for the life of me, but it'd be cool to add that so that the pirate crew can fully experience exploring, maybe they come across land that is not vailor with cool new races and such on it? Also it'd be cool to have something for other people who cannot fully commit to being a pirate that still involves exploration and discovery.

Do you think the server’s players need to work together more?

I do, i think team work is important and helps bring a server together, having a event happen, like maybe a natural disaster, could help make that happen. If a hurricane happens on one land and destroys its homes we could all ban together to help fix it and bring it back to life.

Plugins and Development:

What do you think of the skill plugin? Rate the skills plugin on a scale of 1 to 10, 10 being your dream plugin that meets every element beyond expectations.

I'm gonna go with nine, i do love the skill plugin and don't want it removed but it'd be great that if you do choose your three professions (im counting bonus) you should still have promising for all the other skills you didn't choose. I can't name how many times i couldn't make a simple thing because it was promising and i was inept.

What plugins do you think the developers need to work on?

N/A

Do you feel there are any plugins that you directly interact with that should be changed?

Not that i can think of.

LoTC In General: It's overall a good system, active moderators, a crack crime-stopping force. The server is well built, and has a great following, and overall my opinion will change as questions are asked.

What do you like about LoTC? I like the open world aspect: You play a character YOU want to be WHEREVER you want to be (with IRP limitations of course). When I say 'you want to be' I mean within reason; you cant be god and overlord of the server, the archevil force, or the king of a great nation. You have to fight, conquer, do, and live for that!

What do you dislike about LoTC? The staff, some of it is...and not pointing fingers...a bit unresponsive, I mean, I haven't seen an event in a good while, nor have I heard of one. The tech team is great, the moderators are overall great except for a slight degree of favoritism, and the forum moderators are constantly scouring the forums. The Application Team is, in my opinion, slightly lacking: I've seen some pretty toxic RP'ers be let through that door, and haven't even changed. There are also the 'Orcs killed my father' edgelords that are given the slip sometimes.

What is something LoTC needs to do more of? Events, interactions, world-changing events (NO F***ING PLAGUES), and other impactful things orchestrated by the (mostly) wonderful staff we are (mostly) blessed to have.

What should LoTC do less? Give certain people too much power, to then do little to nothing about it. I constantly hear complaints about the MAT, and I personally have a few grudges with the ET, that aren't necessarily just, but I have my reasons. The staving system is sort of going through a collapse, but supports are needed - without supports a structure collapses in on itself.

What did you like specifically about previous maps? I only played through the one before Vailor, back when I was new, and I liked that it wasn't too aquatic, had a nice mix of ruins, cultist groups, worldchanging events, even during the (what seems like) short span of my time there was always a main road to follow, and a tavern to meet new people in - of all races as well. The problem with Vailor is that A. It's aquatic, B. Everyone's keeping to themselves, no comingling rp groups, and C. The lack of a straight main road with derivations is appalling. I personally find time moving around the map and have a minimap littered with waypoints and attempting to find which boats lead to which areas of the map through sheer guessing.

What would be interesting to see in a future map? A. Landmass, B. Larger, enough space for little towns founded by small nobles and little known lords to spring up C. More events, more ruins, and possibly a new (temporary) race which comes with it (sort of like the Native Americans), and dies off due to plagues we spread to them (just spitballin here).

What keeps you coming back to the server? The experience of being someone else away from all the **** that comes with real life - I always adored the middle ages and happen to love experiencing a fantasy version of it.

Events and Interaction: Is currently nonexistant

Does LoTC need an antagonist? Not quite a main antagonist, but a bit more of a slight nudge in the direction of 'morally wrong' - like a group of uruks gone rogue and teaming with a cult to create a new faction which also happens to raise the dead. Not quite the Fringe Wars I've heard so much about, or a direct antagonist - just something THERE, looming on the horizon and intimidating people to go to those lands (and in those lands spawn default MC mobs,) I guess I'm looking for an antagonist but DONE RIGHT! And I cant stress RIGHT enough! Think Sauron and Morgoth - what did they do right? They had power, influence, and affected what happened in the world. There was always something happening whether because of a simple little trinket, or a more substantial reason, stuff happened!

Do you think LoTC needs more incentive to explore? I can't stress this enough, definitely. Currently there are shoddy ruins around, makes ya wonder and stuff but there isn't really any incentive - it's just a big wilderness and you. I mean, ET's in my sense of the idea of being one, would hang around areas, scan for players, and make the wild WILD. The WILDERNESS has a name for a reason!

Do you think the server’s players need to work together more? In a sense, no, we already have nations with guardforces, pacts, traditions, etc, but in a sense yes: There are so many areas closed off to the general public because of 'RP' reasons, and while the Uzg should be experienced as an uruk or an intake, there should be vast mountain expanses with dragons and dungeons, more life to the world. It's currently just the nations, but what if the nations had something to stop bickering over petty squabbles and fight for a greater cause? (IE an actual threat)

Plugins and Development:

What do you think of the skill plugin? Rate the skills plugin on a scale of 1 to 10, 10 being your dream plugin that meets every element beyond expectations. 3. It's sucky to grind to level up skills to be half decent at doing them, and the XP on certain things just isn't worth it. I find it too similar to WoW's GRIND TO WIN mechanism. You did the same things over....and over....and over...for XP! It would be cool if you added something to make the 2 hour stick of wood WORTH crafting - IE you can name it or soemthing!

What plugins do you think the developers need to work on? Claims, doors, crafting, and racial buffs.

Do you feel there are any plugins that you directly interact with that should be changed? As I said above: skills plugin

LoTC In General:

What do you like about LoTC? I like the potential that it has to create driving, engrossing experiences. I enjoy the depth of the lore, the lucidity that the players have traversing the story, which exists in no other video game to date.

What do you dislike about LoTC? LoTC squanders its potential to create a Crusader Kings-themed PvP fuckfest. Everything I could say about this, DrakeHaze said better.

What is something LoTC needs to do more of? LoTC should simply do more. The server is in dire need of action, story development especially. The extent of Vailor's plot should not be Maly's genocidal war against the dwarves and the ever-broken minecraft economy.

What should LoTC do less? The server dispenses needless punishments and produces needless rules. The staff should stop banning people spontaneously for bullshit they made up on the spot.

What did you like specifically about previous maps? More stuff happened in them. Even in Athera the server at least had an active imagination.

What would be interesting to see in a future map? I want a map that's inspiring, that provides a myriad of places to explore, and one that's fantastic, one that captures the aesthetic of a fantasy world.

What keeps you coming back to the server? My character has a family, which is fun for me, and I don't want to abandon that role-play.

Events and Interaction:

Does LoTC need an antagonist? yes.

Do you think LoTC needs more incentive to explore? Yes.

Do you think the server’s players need to work together more? YES.

Plugins and Development:

What do you think of the skill plugin? Rate the skills plugin on a scale of 1 to 10, 10 being your dream plugin that meets every element beyond expectations. Started off at a solid 6 or 7, but the constant power creep, imba updates and abandonment of all end-game incentives have degenerated it to a boring, necessary chore.

What plugins do you think the developers need to work on? Economy. The skill plugin was advertised as an economic plugin, not an RPG / PvP plugin. Every profession should be dependent entirely on another/multiple other professions, creating a network of trade that allows trade to take shape.

Do you feel there are any plugins that you directly interact with that should be changed? Mmn, sword and bow percents, race buffs, pretty much everything involving combat.
