The author's name is much smaller, and in the lower right corner, signed as 'L.L.' Copies are left in various libraries, clearly not shelved by a librarian. A Guide To Ghoul Training And Husbandry Introduction So, you've decided to adopt or create a ghoul! Perhaps they captivated you with their shambling gait, or even their gluttonous natures. These creatures are simply adorable, though they can be quite tricky for the unprepared or inexperienced. They are seemingly always hungry, so proper training is vital. I suggest obtaining before collecting your ghoul: A sturdy metal cage, tall enough for your ghoul to stand in comfortablyA gold poker, just in caseA muzzleAn easy to adjust chest harness for walksA leash, for said walksA back up collar, with tagsA spray bottleLots of live animalsOptional: Extra clothes As you can see, your ghoul will need a lot pf supplies. However, it is worth it to see them happily chewing on the entrails of a deer. It is important to note this ghoul will depend on you and you alone, both as a provider and protector. Many folk don't like ghouls all too much, and as heartbreaking as it sounds many will kill them on sight. You must be prepared for this. On to the list, the cage and poker may seem cruel but it is rare to find a fully trained ghoul. It sadly becomes necassary to disipline your ghoul when they misbehave, and show that your flesh is not a food source. The harness comes later, and is mainly for easy control of your ghoul. You can use it as a handle or a place to attach a leash for early morning walks in the forest. You will want to double this with a collar, as many ghouls can learn how to remove or break out of their harnesses. This is when the gold poker may become useful again. And of course, the leash. It should be short and stiff, maybe three to four feet long. This will give far more control, and the ghoul will not be able to pull as hard. The spray bottle is not so much for training as cleaning. Ghouls can get bloody easily, as their diets contain a lot of fresh, raw meat. You may wish to invest in some extra clothing as well. You can decide on what style of clothes your ghoul will wear, though cheap materials are recommended. Though more fashion consious ghoul parents may want to dress theirs up in the most fashionable clothing, or even in matching outfits. Beginning Training And so we begin training! First you need to associate a chosen noise with a reward. This can be a finger snap, a clap, anything distinct. Several times a day you will make the noise, and immedately give him or her food. Soon they will realize the sound means that they will get food. This is when we can really start training. You want to begin to teach them that if they try to attack, they ger hurt. You take the gold poker and hold it against their bare skin for an increasing amount of time, saying the word 'no'. Do this until they don't try to attack anymore, then you can start with other people and animals. When you feed him or her, start saying a word like 'feed', but if they don't wait for the word use the gold liberally. As cute as they are, ghouls are incredibly dangerous if untrained. You are supposed to protect your ghoul, even if it hurts him. After this, you can start on other commands and skills, such as not pulling on a leash and sitting. You can use the muzzle for extra security when out. Ghouls can misbehave, so you must be prepared to disipline them quickly and harshly. On a side note, never punish a ghoul. Punishment for example would be locking them in a room or even beating them. Disipline is quick and always immediate. What To Do With Your Ghoul Now that your ghoul is trained, you may be wondering what some fun activities would be. If there are other ghoul parents nearby, you can organize a playdate. Activities for the ghouls usually involve feeding, and live meals are always well taken. For larger ot fast animals, you may need to break one or more legs. Deer need at least one back and one front leg broken. Deer can cause a lot of damage to, or even kill a ghoul. If many ghoul parents live near you, you can start a small ghoul's rights movement with them. You can help educate others about your ghouls, and just talk to like minded individuals. You can also go solo and take your ghoul hunting. I recommend a very strong leash for this, simply to control your ghoul. You don't want them going after a bear, after all. Conclusion To wrap things up, ghouls can make fantastic companions for the well prepared. For the irresponsible, ghouls can be very hard to control or even deadly. It's like people keeping tigers and such as pets, but like a guide. Also a really, REALLY bad idea. The wiki mentioned ghouls can be comanded by non necromancers through training and torture. This is meant to be like that, forgetting it's a VERY dangerous creature. They think the animal loves them, and when it attacks they claim they had no idea it would hurt them or their loved ones.
