Elven Branch of the Druids

The Naelurir is a branch of the druidic order with exclusively elven members. It’s mandate is to spread Aspectism among the wood elven people and act as the spiritual and cultural leaders of the race.

Origins

We will never know when druidism truly began. But we know that for as long as the memories of the wood elven race span, the druids have been there at the center, a guiding hand in the preservation of their ways, their traditions, their culture.

In the Era of the Seeds, all known Drui were wood elven in origin. These elven druids were seen as the wisest and most venerated of all, and elves of all Seeds would traverse miles of the thick Aegisian forest to find their groves and seek their guidance.

After long years of conflict, the Wood Elves of Laurelin finally begin regain their ancient roots. Old Seeds emerge from their centuries long isolation in the forest as they see their city-kin finally rekindle their true path, the Aspects have finally reclaimed the reverence of their chosen kin- the forgotten folk. Malin’s trueborn.

The mali’ame have been lost to their own culture for centuries now, and thus need guides and teachers to help old traditions and the old faith flourish once more. Hence- a new generation of druids is called upon. Just like the old elven druids who once were the central guides of the ancient Seeds, this new order will server as a beacon for their people. They will be known as the Naelurir.

Purpose

The Naelurir are an order of elven druids. Hence, their purpose is same as all other drui. To preserve nature’s balance at any cost, and hold their duty to Aspects above any other pillar of life.

The difference is in how the they interpret this duty. To Naelurir, the education and cultural guidance of the elven people is the most important part of their druidic duty to the Aspects. A druid can go around fixing the imbalances in nature made by foolish descendant races all their live, but more will always appear. To teach an entire people to live and abide by the Aspect’s teachings, an entire race educated to live in harmony and balance with the natural world, that is how a druid makes a true and lasting impact.

Position

The Naelurir are a branch of the main druidic order. The decisions and mentorship of the elder hierophants, even the non-elven ones, hold much sway over Naelurir affairs. The Naelurir Order considers itself naturally duty bound to aid the main branch of druids in anything pertaining to their duty to the Aspects.

That said, the Naelurir train their own dedicants with little interference from the mother circle, and unlike the mother circle- those selected for training and purely elven in origin.

Structure

Being a Naelurir is a lifelong commitment. Training takes nearly a decade to complete (1-3 months). Aspiring elves go through physical and spiritual learning as they ascend through a series of ranks before and after attunement.

Before Attunement

Three stages must be passed before a Naelurir can become a true druid. These are adopted from the Naelurirs’ parent organization- the mother circle.

Aspirant

The most basic of stages. Any elf who wishes to become Naelurir is inducted as an aspirant. Aspirants are tested on basic knowledge of the Aspects and their ways and a foundation is formed for further teaching.

Initiate

Initiate is the stage where an elf truly begins to learn of the true duty of a druid. They begin to learn things such as herbalism, survival in the wilds and deeper spiritual understanding of the Aspect’s web of life.

Acolyte

An Acolyte has achieved as deep an understanding of the natural balance as one who is not attuned can. Acolytes are taught how to teach and influence other elves to keep them on the Aspectist path and are given high level tasks to prepare them for attunement.

After Attunement

After passing all their trials as an Acolyte, the Naelurir will be attuned by an elder to become a true druid. With the Aspect’s gift at their disposal and nature’s ever-constant song in their minds, the elf further increases their wisdom and pool of knowledge.

Drui

Already quite wise and venerated, the Drui are the backbone of the Naelurir. Attuned druids who are expected to devote their life to the Naelurir cause, prioritizing nothing over the conversion to, and guidance of elves to the faith of Aspectism.

Elder

Elders are elven druids who have become experts with the Aspect’s gift of communion and control. They serve as mentors to aspirants, initiates, acolytes and newly attuned druids.

Joining

Joining the Naelurir is not a decision to be made lightly, it is a life-long commitment. All potential aspirants must make a small amount of information known, then seek out elder Artimec of Camoryn Seed within Laurelin’s city walls.

What do the Aspects and Natural Balance mean to you.

Elvrohir has always had a deep love for the forests, only feeling comfortable in the presence of the trees. He worships the Aspects for creating this world and mainainting the cycle.

He feels that the burden of maintaing the natural order must not fall solely on them.

Dalari's ears perk up in keen interest upon hearing news of this development, her lips dipping into a disgusted grimace as she mutters to herself, "Druids have never and should never have separated due to race, all races may be children and dear servants to the Aspects." shaking her head, she begins to stroll away, continuing to mutter to herself in passing, "Only time will show the failure of this racial branch."

What is your name?: Faei'ran Elsinth'aer

Are you fully elven in blood? (Sub Racial make-up does not matter so long as you are carry the blood of no other descendant races): Fully Wood Elven.

Are you an Aspectist, or follow the Aspects teachings in another way?: I'm indeed an Aspectist.

Do you understand that the training process is one that requires much dedication and patience?: Yes.

Do you understand that becoming a Naelurir is a lifelong commitment?: Indeed.

What do the Aspects and the Natural Balance mean to you? Explain as in-depth as you wish: The Aspects, Cernunnos and Cerridwen, are the 'beings' that guide us through life and death. I believe that through their will nature is as it is. Natural Balance is what binds nature together, an owl eats a mouse to sustain itself and in return the population of mouses is kept in check. Natural Balance consists of two factors: the hunter and the prey.

What is your name?: Tevi

Are you fully elven in blood? (Sub Racial make-up does not matter so long as you are carry the blood of no other descendant races):  Purely Mali'ame

Are you an Aspectist, or follow the Aspects teachings in another way?:  Aspectist, with a few minor differences due to Seed background. (I've already discussed this with Mister Artimec)

Do you understand that the training process is one that requires much dedication and patience? Understood.

Do you understand that becoming a Naelurir is a lifelong commitment? Yes, quite expected.

What do the Aspects and the Natural Balance mean to you? Explain as in-depth as you wish: The Aspects signify nature as a whole, maintaining balance - they 'are' balance itself. The Aspects are there to guide, protect and preserve - they gift us with what we call nature, and maintain both Order and Chaos. Natural balance is the cycle of life and death - A rabbit eats the plants, the the fox will consume the rabbit; such is the cycle that continues. The tree will grow, wilt and die - yet in the process, give birth to new life through pollen and seeds. The Aspects surely do not give us gifts for us to simply mar and destroy - expecting a replacement once it has been demolished beyond repair; Surely one should know of Equivalent change, where one gives in return what one has received. (For example, a successful hunt; offering the head of the animal as an offering to Cernunnos to thank him for the success and completion of the hunt, offering back to him the life sacrificed.)

Do you understand that becoming a Naelurir is a lifelong commitment? I understand, as I hope it stays that way.

What do the Aspects and the Natural Balance mean to you? Explain as in-depth as you wish:

The Aspects, Cernunnos and Cerridwen, are some gods is what I believe,  that guide all of us in nature. Just like how important trees are, they aren't just there, they are the 'nature' they can't fight back, but you can help them.

What do the Aspects and the Natural Balance mean to you? Explain as in-depth as you wish: The Aspects are the day and night of life. The Earth and water. The light and dark. Life and death. They are the duo that make up the world. Opposites like two koi swirling in a pond. In ones departure another arrives. As dawn tails dusk; dusk tails dawn. Natural balance would be a absolute equality in both sides. For in life many factors shift the scales, it is the Druii's solemn duty to ensure that as close to balance is kept, whether that means to bring death, or life.

Are you fully elven in blood? (Sub Racial make-up does not matter so long as you are carry the blood of no other descendant races): I am fully elven in blood.

Are you an Aspectist, or follow the Aspects teachings in another way?: I believe that the powers of nature exist, and I follow them  spiritually.

Do you understand that the training process is one that requires much dedication and patience? I understand thoroughly.

Do you understand that becoming a Naelurir is a lifelong commitment? Of course I understand. I intend to change my ways for the good, and improvement of the realm.

What do the Aspects and the Natural Balance mean to you? Explain as in-depth as you wish: To me, the Aspects, very broadly, are balance. However, they are so much more than that. They are life, the earth, the air we breathe. They are all around us, and you can feel it in the shifting air. This is apparent; the Aspects create balance. Without one, the other would fall.

Are you fully elven in blood? (Sub Racial make-up does not matter so long as you are carry the blood of no other descendant races): Yes, I am elven fully.

Are you an Aspectist, or follow the Aspects teachings in another way?: Yes, as a previous pupil of two Druidic circles.

Do you understand that the training process is one that requires much dedication and patience?: Yes.

Do you understand that becoming a Naelurir is a lifelong commitment?: Understood.

What do the Aspects and the Natural Balance mean to you? Explain as in-depth as you wish:  The Aspects make up two halves of the same world. They correlate with each other to represent the Natural Balance, not leaning favorably in one area of the other. The Aspects consist of Cerridwen and Cernunnos - the nurturing side of nature and the Hunt, respectively. Together, they represent the flow life and death that becomes the Natural Cycle. All that is life and death within nature becomes apart of the Natural Balance.

What is your name?: Arahaelth Mormerildes

Are you fully elven in blood?: Yes, both my Maln and Haelun were Mali'ame

Are you an Aspectist, or follow the Aspects teachings in another way?: Yes

Do you understand that the training process is one that requires much dedication and patience? Yes

Do you understand that becoming a Naelurir is a lifelong commitment? Undoubtedly, yes

What do the Aspects and the Natural Balance mean to you? Explain as in-depth as you wish: The Aspects and Natural Balance are the very life blood of the Mali'ame. Without the Aspects leading us in our lives, our world would be filled with chaos and destruction. The Natural Balance must be held in it's highest regard, to do otherwise would be turning our backs on our heritage. The Aspects must be given reverence and we must never  forget who brings the hunt and helps the trees to flourish.

Are you fully elven in blood? (Sub Racial make-up does not matter so long as you are carry the blood of no other descendant races): Yes.

Are you an Aspectist, or follow the Aspects teachings in another way?: Yes.

Do you understand that the training process is one that requires much dedication and patience? Yes, though this enlistment is for when I eventually retire from the Order of Sirame.

Do you understand that becoming a Naelurir is a lifelong commitment? Yes.

What do the Aspects and the Natural Balance mean to you? Explain as in-depth as you wish:

Nature feeds us, clothes us, and allows us to maintain our entire civilization. The Aspects bestow onto us nature through the continued maintenance of it by the Druidic Order and it's numerous spring-off groups. I lean towards Cernunnos as an Aspect more due to his personal relevance to me as a member of the Order of Sirame, hunting and killing to safeguard the Elves.
