History
Kester was born in a small village in the times of Athera. He was born with various mental sociopathic illnesses. But yet his brother was normal, honorable, and strong. So obviously his parents favored his Brother. But due to Kester's madness they thought they could make him a jester and profit off of him and yet get rid of the fool. So they sent him to an entertainment college as a promising jester. 

 

They told Kester that they had faith that he would make a great jester, but he would learn about the treachery. 

He was suspicious, so he stole a letter from the professor that was sent when he arrived. it stated how much of a disappointment he was, and all the lies they had spun at him. But all of a suddenly the professor stepped in, and he confronted him. But consumed by madness Kester took a poker from the fireplace and would beat the professor unconscious with it. He ran off, starting his new life.

And with the fall of Athera a madman jester was the least of their worries, so he was free to choose his own path. But the way of the jester was wired into his head, so he continued the profession as he saw it as the only clear path for him.
