If na exodus would happen a lot of people would leave.

Simply because they would loose all there house and most possesions.

That often makes people rage quit. People who worked for months to get power in the world of Aegis

would lose most of that in a day. My idea is that the world should change, but we keep the mayor cities and large enough guild house and stuff like that.

A lot of lore could be imagined to explaine why the world has changed.

What about people who have donated to the server and have plots of land shops and Npc characters? Will they still be able to have those same things in new world? I would be very upset if I did not get to have those things in the new world.

I'd say that creating two worlds would be best. The major cities and constructions could be transferred to the new world, and the players would be let to retrive the items they want to bring to the new world.

Let's say they can have a week or two to transfer their items, and then we just delete the old world.

That way the server would be pretty much the same, but with 1..8 update.

Once again...NEW CONTINENT TO EXPLORE. There can be lore behind it and we can keep Aegis.

Whether people agree with me or not is something I pay no mind to, but I will lay out a suggestion for Vaq and Availer (when my Akhi comes back from Libya lol). I heard 'major towns' will be transferred, I have to perhaps give a clear guideline that I feel should be followed, let the towns that have a WELL-WRITTEN and a INTRIGUING Lore and Roleplay be transferred to this new map. Personally I would go so far as to let the 'Leaders or Mayors' of these towns advocate with the GMs as to why their town should be transferred. To limit the possible influx of people trying to get their town transferred, the town must have approximately TEN active members of this town.

This is the idea, however Aegis would eventually need to be destroyed :P.

That's not such a bad thing :P Many would enjoy a fresh scene.

Why does the update merit a world change anyways?

Also, all regioned areas should be transferred over, I don't think it's fair to just spring something like this after people have put a lot of work into rp structures that are going to just be wiped out?

Do you have any idea how much GM work that would take? :blink:

Because of new biomes and features, incompatibility problems, etc. And copying over stuff is responsible for corruption, and it would be bad to start off a new map already with a lot of corruption.

I know Vaq, Ive made suggestions on other threads such as a month long event that gives everyone time to get to the new continent and something like Iblees consumes Aegis as to the reason why it vanished. We do want to keep this all lore wise.

Who said anything about a map reset... We won't do anything crazy, if it comes to the point where we take it as a serious option with benefits, we'll put up a poll :P.

Um, didn't you? That's kinda what "New World" and "transfer of major cities" implies, does it not?

I was originally extremely against starting a new map. But now I've kind of started to grow on the idea. But regardless, I just want to KNOW which it is going to be. It is hard to keep working on my fortress and growing my Clan if its all going to be for not in a month. If we're going to start over, just say that's happening as soon as possible, and if we're not, say so definitively ASAP as well. Limbo is no good.

why dont you take position of the aegis world right now and when your going to reset place it back where you originally placed it, just a suggestion!

I think all protected areas, where the player is active (in the last 6 months or so) should have be kept or at least have the option of being kept.

If a player builds in the wilderness (unprotected area) then they could have their place destroyed at anytime anyway.

Just a thought.

I used to play on another rp server, it strived, there were tons of players. Then, the map reset. The server crumbled and everyone stopped playing on it. After, the owners kept trying to recreate it and trying to get it back to its old status, but always failed.

I'm not saying this will happen, but be careful guys.
