Can you explain what the necrolyte buff does?

This is the original thread regarding the addition of the Construct, Necrolyte and Spectre races.

This later-made thread offers insight on some alterations to the Necrolyte buff in particular, down towards the bottom (a 50% speed boost). I think this should be adequate for the multitude of Harbingers that roam the ordinary.

Just a suggestion for a newbie here- why not give the players who use the 'Harbinger' race the same rule as normal Ghosts- they can't PVP at all. Maybe change this so they have to be given permission to PVP in certain events or fights. From looking into the lore, they seem like they shouldn't be fighting 'with' mortals anyway. Just my two cents. >.<

The problem is if we were to wear armor that'd break our characters. While I'm not going to propose a nerfed version of spectres be added , I think something else needs to be done. I have never PVPed seriously on my Harbinger. and when I have, I have lost. I don't see the reason for this, but that Necrolyte race does not seem exactly... Right for us. But, whatever. No matter the race, we'll keep being the same, I guess.

Not really. Considering your characters exist because of armor, wearing it wouldn't be much of an issue. If you all read the lore I had submitted and accepted, you would understand being a bit more weak would be more fitting, as that's what the lore clearly defines them as. Harbingers aren't nearly as strong as they were before; that is the cost of a continued existence. But even then, the Necrolyte race puts them above a lot of other people, so it's not really a matter of nerfing Harbingers. They just shouldn't be as strong as they are, considering in addition how numerous they've come to be.

Good job Chuckaboo.

I agree 100%. There is no need for Harbingers to have these buffs at the moment. They've been solely employed as PvP mercenaries during wars instead of utilizing their buff as intended, as an antagonist faction that attacks indiscriminately. I've heard that there have been attempts to use the buff to actually bring back the RP, but if it's only to, as it largely has been, to attack a handful of nations instead of functioning as a universal antagonist which would warrant such immense perks, then I'll be sorely disappointed.

I would rather have the Harbingers utilize the magic plugin they used in the past than use their current PvP buffs. I think the past magic plugin was fun and thrilling to fight against, and inspired a lot of fun new tactics. What Cracker said is right; the current Harbingers, while seeming to improve on actual roleplay front, have been greatly abused as "one-day alts" to fight for whatever faction a player's other character fights for. If the Harbingers became true antagonists who fought indiscriminately and not for a nation I'd be more tolerant towards them.
