KeatonUnbeaten 1103 Share Posted May 7, 2016 (edited) The Storming of Seahelm On the 9th of the Grand Harvest, 1558, the combined forces of Oren marched forth from their camps and laid siege to the city of Seahelm. They knew that the rebellious traitors would cowardly, and desperately, attempt to hold the city. It would not be their bastion, it would be their graves. They lit fires all around, sending plumes of smoke skyhigh, a terrifying inferno of fire climbing up their gnarled houses, along their broken walls. And then the siege weapons let loose their torrent of unending justice. Boulders rained upon their walls, as the bravest of Oren, die Starke Armee, propped up their siege ladders and stormed the western wall. What ensued was a bloodbath for the rebels, and a decisive victory for Oren, that would forever be known as one of our finest hours, if not the greatest example of our might. The true definer of the battle was the marksmanship of Balgruff Frostbeard, whose great Dwarven warcry echoed throughout their city, and set the Nortruppen to shivering fits. It was his shot that split Lord Thomas Ruric, the Traitor of Ostavar, in two and broke their morale as cleanly as our swords pierced their necks. I, Gared, was one with the first unit to attack. I, with the Emperor himself, took first the main three towers that ruled over the docks, before, alone, I leapt into a house and slew three Norlander scum. I took a great bounty from their hellish bodies before helping raise the banner over Seahelm. As the fires extinguished, and the day reached its peak, the Orenian flag rose proudly Ostavar and set the Dreadlander reinforcements to fleeing. A complete and accurate account of the Storming of Seahelm, by Gared Errmark, of Courland.
