Lsuvsfar 255 Share Posted June 12, 2016 Welcome to Dawn of a Modern Age, where applicants will always be accepted no matter how early or late we are into the game. In this game, you must be prepared to step up and take command of your own country. Everything that country has is at your disposal. Will you lead your country in an aggressive campaign of military might and conquest, or sit back and let others fight while you become the economic superpower of the world? All of these choices are for you and you alone to decide. Be warned, however, once you set foot into, the world of Tempus, whether your nation grows into the next superpower of gets crushed by the existing ones is entirely up to you. Rules: General I-1. Do not make yourself overpowered or god mod(i.e. control things you have no control over). I-2. Be reasonable- Think over your actions before you put them into effect, once you have done something it will not be voided unless in violation of the rules. I-3. Everything has a weakness(including you nation) so anything you make will not be invincible. I-4. 2 IRL day will equal 1 year in game. If you are going to be gone, inform a mod and you will be allowed to catch up once you return. I-5. Listen to the mods. I-6. Any wars you partake in will be modded, regardless of whether or not it is an NPC or a player. I-7. Put something about bananas into the extra information section of your application to show you've read the rules. I-8. No two countries can have the same cultures. II. Land II-1. Make the amount of land you claim realistic. For example, you are not going to claim half the continent and be allowed to continue. If you expand and take over that much, then it’s ok but you will not start out with that much. II-2. Any resources you have on your land must be reasonable. Mods will determine what resources exist on your land. So, for example, you are not going to have an insanely large lead, iron, copper etc. mines all on your starting piece of land. III. War III-1. You can’t wipe out your opponent on the first war post, and upon making your first post attacking them, you may not make a second post doing so until they have made a role-play post responding to you. III-2. When going to war, both sides must agree on a mod they feel will be fair in moderating the war. Obviously this isn’t a problem for wars with NPCs. IV. Projects IV-1. When doing projects, make sure you say exactly when they start and end. IV-2. Give a description of what exactly your project is trying to accomplish, and what the product is once it has concluded. Application: Nation Name: Place on Map: Government and Economy Type: Leader: Population(No more than 25m): Military: Technology(1920 tech of some country): Culture: History: Extra Information: Link to the map: https://i.imgur.com/usLGjYM.jpg Ratings Chart Superpowers: Mangevic Empire Astershire World Powers: Regional Powers: Basic Nations: Superpowers- These are the nations which few others can rival. Their presence stretches across the globe, and they normally have militaries and economy unrivaled by that of any other nation. World Powers- Like superpowers, these countries have a large influence and are capable with competing with most other countries. However, if a world power every came to blows in a one on one with a superpower, the war would be completely one sided. Regional powers- These countries exert and influence within their own region. They are often times feared by smaller surrounding countries. Their economies are well off enough to allow for growth but, they lack the economic resources to mass produce during war times like Superpowers and World Powers can. Basic Nations- Think of these nations as being like the Baltic states of the time. Everyone starts out here. Their militaries are well off enough, but they are fairly limited to what they have. Their economies get the country by, but almost any war they engage in will have massive effects on economic stability. NPCs: Nation Name: Mangevic Empire Government and Economy Type: Capitalist Constitutional Monarchy Leader: Boris Kozlov Population: 300m Military: 20m Technology: 1920 Russian Tech Culture: Russian History: The Mangevic Empire was formed from a small city state called Mangev. Manger was always a militaristic city state, and as time passed more and more people fell under their control. However, Mangev had always faced problems expanding across the whole continent. Administrative duties across wide tracts of land constantly hindered their further away territories, and often times they would either split off or join another nation. Furthermore, they never cared much for building up navies, as pirates from other nations would often come and crush their fleets early on in wars, which stopped them from expanding and moving supplies efficiently. However, as the world became more industrialized, management became easier and trains allowed Mangev to quickly move soldiers and resources across her lands. Soon, those who had long rebelled against Mangev began collapsing under the weight of the juggernaut as she pushed inwards. Upon realizing the only way to combat the Mangevic Empire was together and united, many of the countries nearby the Mangevic Empire formed a coalition to halt the advance of the Empire. Understanding that advancing would be more difficult, the Mangevic Empire then began reaching out to other countries. While her lands were resource rich, she would need allies and trading partners in order to ensure a war could be prosecuted. The Mangevic Empire began arming other nations, and many of her mercenaries began going off and were hired by her allies to aid in their wars. Soon enough, the Mangevic Empire became the top arms producer in the world, with a steady line of resources coming in from her allies. Extra Information: The Mangevic lands hold many great resources and the Empire has a large hoard of resources from her allies; however, these resources are rarely used and instead kept in reserve until the day comes when a great war cuts of their supply lines. Their society is very rural and committed to agriculture and gives them a great bounty of food. Nation Name: Astershire Government and EconomyType: Capitalist Parliamentary Republic Leader: Henry Walpole Population(No more than 25m): 300m Military: 10m Technology: 1920 British Tech Culture: British History: Astershire arose after a civil war had cause a division among an old Empire and caused the entire Empire to fragment. Astershire soon arose, knowing only war for many years. However, as time drug on, peace came and Astershire began launching a series of wars against neighboring island nations. However, everything soon changed when another nation swept out from the mainland on the north and attacked Astershire. Their forces were no match for this new nation’s forces and they were forced to flee the island. Millions of civilians were left behind and lost their lives in the ensuing slaughter. Astershire picked up their forces at war with a nearby island state and left. They sailed down the large chain of islands they had lived on and made it to the most southern island. When they arrived, their troops stormed the island, murdering, and conquering what they could. The war finally ended with the most southern island in the hands of Astershire, with a lack of men they turned to the only thing that could protect them, the sea. They rapidly built naval ships, preparing for war, and pulled so many troops from their army that only a few thousands were left. With all this done, Astershire began fighting numerous see battles against the people that attempted to wipe them out in their weakened state. Each time, although the nation of Astershire had less people than did their enemy, they were able to utterly destroy countless fleets, watching as many a convoy hoping to reach their lands and use their armies, sunk to the bottom of the sea along with the tens of thousands of men on them. For hundreds of years, Astershire continued like this until their population had recovered. By this point, the empire which had originally kicked them out of their homeland had taken over every other island in the chain, but was busy fighting wars in the north on the mainland and, after losing countless naval battles against Astershire, had almost completely abandoned their island holdings. Knowing this, Astershire took their fleet and struck east, completely destroying the navies of the neighboring nations and ensuring they wouldn’t be able to strike Astershire. They then turned around and hit the island, sinking every fleet of the empire that took their homeland and burning all their major port cities. Seeing this, the Empire made peace in the north and turned their army south, and Astershire began taking over their islands in the south, they sailed a fleet across the sea to relieve their islands, believe that it was safe since Astershire hadn’t yet attacked their ships going between the northernmost of the chain islands in their own homeland. The Empire’s fleet left, but after they had the realized they had fallen for a trap. The Astershire fleet appeared behind them, running them down. The two fleets then engaged in a fearsome battle on the sea, but the many transports of the Empire got in the way of their other ships maneuvering and by the end of it, the empire’s entire fleet, and nearly half their army, was sitting at the bottom of the ocean. Following this, the rest of the islands in the chain fell to Astershire and the Empire’s mainland holding were swiftly taken or had rebelled. With this defeat, they retreated to their last holding left in the middle of the Ocean, but Astershire would not allow this. Astershire descended upon the mountainous island and attacked, finally defeating the Empire. Following this, an industrial revolution occurred and Astershire began shifting away from war and towards peace. While they got involved in many more wars after this, rarely did these wars end in conquest. Generally, Astershire would destroy the enemy fleets, bombard their port cities while their allies launched a land assault, and then the nation would agree to a trade deal with Astershire. By doing this and making many allies, Astershire transformed into a production heavy nation. By gaining raw resources from their allies and defeated rivals, they were able to sell high quality trade products to nations all over the globe, and their massive fleet ensured that neither pirates nor enemy nations would dare disrupt their trading. Even though they have much less land than the Mangevic Empire, their massive wealth and rapid urbanization is what has allowed them to prosper and have the largest population in the world. Extra Information: They are a very industrial country with a very high standard of living. Their navy is both the largest and highest quality one in the world. They don’t have the army to compete with the Mangevic empire, and it would be a tough battle if some other nations got their armies onto their main land, but their army is still nothing to scoff at. However, Astershire, while they do have a large stash of resources, produces very little of their own. They are heavily reliant on trade to keep their economy in tact. If you mean something like the British East India Company, I suppose so. Go ahead and just alter the application how you see fit.

dirtryhary 26 Share Posted June 12, 2016 Nation Name: Shadik Republic Place on Map: Government and Economy Type: Theocratic Autocracy/Feudal-Industrial Leader: Obodiah Population(No more than 25m): twenty-five million Military: Mandatory Conscription in times of war, possible numbers roughly estimated at eight million or more. Technology(1920 tech of some country): Russia Culture: Russian History: The Shadik Republic is a large and sprawling empire. Originally settlers came from the mountains and icy waste of the north. Integrating but dominating the native steppe nomads, an uneasy peace formed. That was the very beginning of the republic. For hundreds of years after, the Empire would grow and solidify. The Ruling class was comprised of nobles descending from the ancient northern raiders. They're breed holds the power, and lords it over the massive amount of minorities. Through fear and a robust military, peace is kept. The Empire is massive, and well populated. However this is also a problem, as secessionist tendencies are high. The northern elite can only tap the top of a vast pool of resources. Inefficient and corruption plague the Empire. However, it still stands strong. From the northern lords perching in their icy castles, to the desert nomad warriors, Shadik remains divided but strong. A strong hand is needed, a godly man to rule the masses. Obodiah is the most current Defender of the Faith. It is the highest title in Shadik, and brings absolute power. It is through the Defender that the governing body of nobles answer to. Armies march at his command, and temples are built on a whim. Shadik religion is highly treasured, and the peasants are the most devout. The two biggest threats to Shadik are from within, and their ancient enemy.. the Mangevic Empire Extra Information: Bananas! The Shadik Empire's main strength relies in it's army and faith. Industrialization came late to Shadik, most peasants, desert nomad warriors, city dwellers, and steppe nomads living in poverty. It is only truly the northern nobles descending from raiding caste who hold money. However resources are bountiful, if unused. The Army is diverse but in a good way, many different elements displaying their talents. Primarily northern nobles hold officer commissions.
