17th of the Amber Cold, 1567

Within the walls of the Warhawke Keep, a small council of Warhawkes come to the conclusion of writing a letter addressed to all members of the Ebonglade.

"I do not pretend to know the will of Malin, nor do I claim to walk in his path. My father was a troubled man. He fought for many leaders. The battles in which he partook were dwarfed by the battles he fought within himself.

Perhaps the greatest wisdom that any parent can pass onto their child is the truth that everyone is just as much a person as you are. They have their own desires and their own feuds. This is where elves have failed.

We have failed to see that we are all the same. The elves of Laurelin mark Haelun’or as evil for the murder of mali when they allowed a schism within the land of ker that it has never recovered from. This schism was unwanted even by the greater powers of the world. When the dark children of Malin separated, the world threw a tantrum. Khel’igne erupted in fury at the sight of the ker moving in separate directions.

I am a Warhawke but I am also a ker. An exiled ker but a ker nonetheless. Our numbers continue to grow but our minds are no longer on simply the well-being of our own.

The Warhawkes do not harbor any anger towards the remaining denizens of the Ebonglade as proven by our assistance in the city last Elven night.
The Warhawkes offer a lapis branch of unification to Dak’ir and the ker beneath his name."

The signatures of the two Chieftains are written at the bottom of the open letter.

Dak'ir sits at beneath a tree within Ebonglade with parchment in hand and a little grey jay on his shoulder. He taps the stick of charcoal against the page as he mulls over his thoughts. Though before long, he begins to put them onto the page.

"None of us shall know what the All-Father had planned for us, kin and cousin alike. Though I'm sure if he were to return, he'd scold us like the children we are. And while agree that unity must be achieved, I do not believe it is possible now. Not in any true capacity. Despite what the hate spewing 'Aheral say, the Dominion still has a chance for true unity. Something beyond you and myself. You've my full support should you wish to come into it so that we may improve our relations. The constant gossip of being 'slaves' the the 'Ame or Oren are false and we are treated with equal respect. But if you do not, then I hope that our mutual wounds may heal over time. As of now, I believe to merge would only lead to new grudges and merely make our situation worse. Let us not force this and let things mend on their own. Perhaps a festival in honour of Arganos is due. Something we can all join in on to celebrate. As well, let us end any hostilities and unneeded foolishness. I do hope that you can understand my reasoning here and that we may build from here.

P.S. Thank your brother for dealing with your panty thief."

He chuckles to himself at that last bit before carefully tying the note to the bird's back and sending it off.

Dirk looks confusedly at the crates around him as he doesn't know whether he still has a use for them or not.

Saint finds the public letter and reads it carefully. "I'm glad that they took my advise, or at least part of it. Hope that the Warhawkes and the Ebonglade mali can start being peaceful now, and maybe unite themselves once more."

"I, for one, am disappointed Dak'ir's answer lacked any form of dry wit." Remarked Sullas the Cripple.
