You seem to believe that the devteam is on our team, Squirtgun.

It's painful to see how oblivious they seem to be. What good use will these wipes even be? Half the server will be grinding away the rest of august and this silly little compensation just undermines the whole thing. Either you wipe it clean and don't give us anything or you don't wipe anything.

I see it as middle ground type thing. Trying to work with people who wants complete wipes and those who don't. 

 

This community can be hard to please.

Giving everyone, even those without skill to begin with, 150k is ridiculous. It takes wiping it and just makes that meaningless. If you're wiping, either don't make everyone super skilled with no effort on their behalf, or don't wipe. I get wanting a fresh start. But doing that only to give everyone an insta-masterful defeats the purpose. This is coming from a masterful farmer with near adept everything else. Just giving out 150k to everyone isn't fair in the slightest.

There's no point in wipes. I'm hardly tech savvy but I am fairly certain that the wipe will do us no good.

Like I said in the other thread:

If your going to wipe it, full wipe. Giving 150k is insane.

If you feel like you HAVE to give something to players so they don't feel like they have to grind to make the basics, then give them enough exp to hit FAIR.

 

It bypasses the stupid Mining Fatigue for gathering skills.

It allows you to make nearly every basic item for a profession.

And it doesn't feel like you were handed a free skill.

^This. The fact that the character I'm bringing back in 5.0 would just immediately be masterful in something is absurd. And so, so unfair that everyone would just be insanely skilled, so no work is required. Defeats so many purposes.

It's called a loophole. That being said, I'd rather have this kind of system instead of having to pay for basic things such as races or classes like how they do it in an actual P2W mmorpg. If I want to RP, not having any skills isn't going to stop me.

clarification: You should always take screenshots of your RP items before doing any of this plugin stuff just in case

also I have no opinion on skills but I will bluntly say

 

I don't come here to grind.

 

None of us do.

 

People have been insanely aggressively pushing for, no nexus, no grind, grind isn't fun, skills are dumb.

 

Considering that, what the heckaroni is the problem with giving out free exp points, especially if we hopefully will have nexus removed in the future anyways? It'll help players get set up on the new map ASAP, it'll make building settlements easier, it'll help prevent time being WASTED on grinding (if you have time to waste on grinding go for it on top of the free exp, some of us have better things to do). it'll prevent people who have hours and hours of time to grind getting an RP leg-up on people who don't, and who come to the server just to RP.

 

Maybe 150k each persona is too much. Maybe we can look at stacking it based on persona play time? Maybe it can be lessened? idfk.

 

But I think there should be enough exp given out for non-specialized people to get high enough in stoneworking/woodworking/whatever the **** else, that they can be self-sufficient and at least get a job helping build places up.

i feel like people who RP less and have way more free time to do OOC thing are getting pissy that the RPers will be able to reach a tactically advantageous point in the mechanical aspect of things, thus lessening the importance of them further than it already is.

Can confirm I come here to role-play not grind. Any "skills" I have are purely because I was trying to do what you normally can in minecraft(break blocks, make blocks, etc) or because it was "automatic" because all you had to was stand near what was happening(Breeding). I just want to relax, feels to me too many games are trying to make themselves survival(needing food, water, etc) and have crafting. It becomes tiresome(even though minecraft is basically that even without our plugin/mods- Just don't have to grind skills in vanilla.

Either remove Nexus or do not touch it. 

All your are doing with this is wasting the time of those of us who grind. 

You say you want to give people 'equal ground', but I can promise in a month it will be the same people on the top 10 lists. 

 

Despite having Daemonic, Angelic, and Legendary skills, I would be able to accept the removal of nexus if it provided a much smoother LOTC experience. 

 

Giving every person the ability to become a master craftsmen at map start is dumb. Read it out loud.

This system is idiotic and just a massive hassle and 'screw you' to people who have grinded or bought respecc. In regards to construction issues, make the freaking doors craftable by anyone. Nobody on LOTC has continuously grinds WW to make doors.
