Regarding My Skype..

Hiya guys!

As the title suggests, my skype has been 'hacked' with this I suggest those of you with my contact to remove my old account, and for the admins of chats I am in, to remove me from said chats.

I do not believe the person is from LoTC, personally I think it was either one of my friends, or my mom (God dammit mum). I doubt I will be able to regain my password, seeing as my friends are dicks. Once I have a new account I will be sure to add all the plebs back!

There is one step you can take to help secure your account. Note that this only works for Microsoft accounts and not Skype accounts. Enable 2FA. Basically this will send a code to your phone when you attempt to login. This creates a second "factor" required for your login. That way people can't just bruteforce your pasword and be done.

 

Note: Technically this is a form of 2 step authentication. Not 2 factor. But everyone calls them 2FA so that's what I'll call it here.

 

Well there is—you change your password, I believe that logs out all Skype accounts.

Also 2FA is perfect, and you won't get hacked with it. My advice is once in a while type /showplaces and it will show you all devices logged into your Skype account.

No, it doesn't. If someone's logged onto your skype account there is no way to force them to log off it.

I was logged into my phone at the time, I originally noticed since I was logged off on it, then went home to find my computer was also logged off!

Hilariously that thread has someone saying it didn't work. I've seen first hand that changing the password doesn't force people off an account.
