You probably have to reconsider your friendship. Your family really shouldn't care either way, and if anything should be encouraging you.

 

If you're embarrassed of the server yourself, why? Because of the sort of people on it?

They don't reflect upon you if you don't associate with them. Just sharing a server doesn't make you one of them.

 

Maybe though... you're embarrassed of how you behave on this server...

Then that's really up to you to change. 

I'm embarrassed I role play, not with my behaviour ngl. It's just an activity where many people kind of take it way too far and try to mix it in with real life, which should never happen. It's a hobby for most of us that we do not wish to share with others. Social media is not the way to expand advertisement, the minecraft forums should be our direction, not social media.

I tell certain friends I roleplay here, mostly people who would understand, like friends who play D&D or are into other such nerdy activities. I wouldn't broadcast this as my hobby to everyone on social media.

Nope. No thank you. Some of my friends know and I have shared the meme on here with them but I dont want to let everyone know I play on a minecraft roleplay server.

Pretty much this. It's a really bizarre niche hobby in a way that only makes sense if you've actually done it.

It is not that I am embarrassed of the act of internet MegaBlox roleplay, or the fact that I do it myself;

it is the fact that wholly cringeworthy posts like these would be seen by people without a tolerance to them, and would be associated with my self.
