On the morning of 10th of the Amber Cold, Empress Julia Horen, and Queen Reza Barbanov send out scores of couriers on a mission to alert the nobility, both Northern and Southern of an upcoming ball.

Maric wonders why the noble house of Ruthern were not listed yet the dead de Solas were. He furrows his brow, ever confused why his nephew's wife did not have Ruthern make the list.

Eirik Baruch reads the letter, rage growing inside his belly at the fact that his House was not listed. He lifts himself from the chair in his chambers and exits his keep. He paces to the kennels where he proceeds to furiously beat his pet kha cub. "Its yer fault!" Screamed the young baron, as he hoofed the demoralised and battered cat across the yard. Young Eirik's rage begins to fade; the beating of the cub being somewhat therapeutic to him.
