Love you @Teegah

The system needs twerking, even if it was left in its current state.

The only rp-esque gathering profession you could argue is Lumberjacking with the random fruit drops, the pomegrenades, the angry birds, the old axe, etc.

Farming, it only tells you if a casket drops.

Mining, it doesn't even tell you that, and the caskets and random drops you get for getting high enough, are often lackluster. They need to be improved.

If you wanted to add more RP to gathering professions:

Farming: With seasons, crops already stop growing, have them turn into dead bushes to represent ruined crops. Slightly extreme, but fun.

Have a mole pop out and attack you sometimes. Have a scarecrow walk by randomly and give you something. Have birds eat your seeds.

Mining: At the very least, make a emote or action of when a casket drops. Currently nothing is said. The RP caves are cool. I'd be cool to see a rock golem/iron golem attack, when you mistake it for a boulder, obviously tone down the damage and health. Fix the random drop rates like I said.

Just some ideas.

Professions should not hinder or limit what you can do, but give you added bonuses for doing so.

I shouldn't need a specific level to cut down certain wood or mine certain stone. But if I have a high lumberjacking or mining level, I should have an added chance to find additional resources. Extra logs, bird nests containing gemstones (runescape!), stuff like that. Mining should let you find extra loot, faster mining, etc.

Don't force someone to grind something just so they can play the base game. Reward them for grinding with additional rewards.

There was a thread on this a long-long-long time ago. No idea what happened to it, but I'll fish it up and edit this post as soon as I get it.

EDIT: Here is one and the other. Two threads in fact.

Nexus crafting makes it easier to obtain some items which, can be difficult to get normally with the way our server is set up. Glowstone being an example. If it were removed, I'd want to see alternate ways to get these awkward blocks, as well as blocks that were added in updates after the map was made.

That was a huge pain for builders back before nexus.

If you remove grind, people won't RP more. They'll just stop grinding.

You want people to play WoW and LoL when they can't find RP instead of being online and grinding?

Oh look, over 70% voted to keep crafting professions! Guess we should keep them exactly the way they are then. That's how polls work, right?

What about miners unable to see / notice caskets in the walls of their mineshafts? Are they in the very middle of the stone?

Honestly, I like Nexus. It's one of the reasons I came back, I like the unique professions bit we have going on. I'd like to see some changes, maybe so it's worth going higher than Masterful in WW, and I'd like less expensive AP/Dismounting/Barbed arrowheads, but it is what it is. Take all times that take 12+ hours and chop them in half. Make my tinker happy. <3
