I'm lotc's first dedicated web developer and have been working lately on making our website better. The following is an impromptu changelog for this month. I'll be doing these once a month, likely towards the end of each month. The point is to summarize each minute change and to garner feedback on them. ‹ Key › + Indicates added content * Indicates changed content - Indicates removed content ^ Indicates planned content ‹ Changelog › + Added a general statistics widget which combines the data present in the former forum statistics and member statistics widgets into one [F.01] + Added a group legend displaying what each staff group's colors are as well as providing a redirect to a list of members when clicked [F.02] + Added a cancel button to the editor which appears after the editor is called and can dismiss it [F.03] + Added Google Drive integration, allowing for embedding of Docs, Sheets, and Slides; click File -> Publish and use that link to embed [F.04]+ Added Facebook and Instagram login handlers; set them up on the settings page [F.05] + Added emoji support with the latest version of unicode and a button to the editor, as well as some stock emoticons for quality meming [F.06] + Added a back to top button which is in the bottom right corner of all pages [F.07] + Added an alert box button to the editor, which adds a neat little box like the one at the top of this page [F.08] * Revamped the staff page to notate directors, managers, and developer titles [F.09 & F.10] * Rewrote the status updates widget to allow for replies to appear asynchronously, upvotes to happen on the forums index, etcetera [F.11] * Changed the user link to display group colors in most content areas [F.12] * Various team colors were changed on the website to match their in game counterparts at the behest of the relevant team directors * Revamped the apply page slightly, a total rework is coming soon™ with maximum functionality and a e s t h e t i c [F.13] * Made the email checkbox unticked at first on the registration page to comply with various local and international laws [F.14] * Automatically enabled status updates, content subscription, and some other settings on new accounts by default [F.15] - Removed everything I can find so far relating to the VigiLink redirects; it's a known issue and my top priority at the moment - Snow will be removed on the 1st; for now, if you do not want to see snow, you can scroll to the bottom and select the no snow theme [F.16] - Removed deprecated and obsolete pages and links - Removed Iblees, deus vult ^ Total redo of the home page is inbound, in plain text and images, made to be mobile responsive; any artists who want to help out, please get in touch ^ Revamped apply page inbound, with lots more guides, more methods to ask for help, etcetera; I'll be working with the application team on that front ^ Eventual integration between Minecraft and the website, allowing for syncing of your Minecraft account much like you already can with Discord ^ Much, much more; stay tuned, friendo Spoiler Figures [F.01] General statistics widget [F.02] Group legend [F.03] Cancel button [F.04] Google Drive embeds [F.05] Facebook and Twitter login handlers [F.06] Emoji button [F.07] Back to top button [F.08] Alert box button [F.09] How to get to the staff page [F.10] Example of staff titles and colors [F.11] Revamped status updates widget [F.12] Example of the user link color change [F.13] Main change to the apply page, the team color [F.14] Email box unticked [F.15] Example of an auto enabled setting [F.16] How to remove snow ‹ Conclusion › Got any feedback? Just a random idea, but perhaps we can have an option for custom font colors in statuses and forum posts. Something like one of these color boxes would work nicely.
