Blood in the Caves

It was a grim and dark night, distant clock towers make echo the sound of 2 bells. Lindaria’s forests, ever beautiful, now lay sleeping. A fog hung about the undergrowth - vision obstructed until but a few feet though, in the distance a faint light spotted: the dim hue of fire, a torchlight. A couple, of ashen skin, accompanied by a child wandered the forest tracks so late at night on their way home. The silence of the sleeping woods then halted - when an eerie howl echoed throughout the darkness, the sound hollow - from a cave. They tensed for a moment, looking around them in fear, only to see a familiar wolf wandering towards them. Their companion wolf.

The giant black wolf prowled towards them, sniffing in their direction as its crimson gaze scanned their forms. Thinking this was a game, the young boy ran towards the wolf only to scream out in agony as the large jaws wrapped around his torso, tearing into the flesh of the child. Horrified, the parents ran to get the wolf to let go, but were met with the ferocity that had never been seen from such beasts. The screams of anguish filled the forest... After several moments they died down… and silence once more returned to the forests of Lindaria.

Stirred Mali’Ker would only find partial remains of the family inside the caves of Ker’Nor, their identities a mystery.

((Do not put OOC in this thread, this is a precurser for an event I am holding within the darkies. Several of these events will happen as well. Thanks to Hedgehug for sprucing up the post.

Lotha gazed down at the remains over her crossed arms. She flicked her head a little to throw a loose lock of hair from her face. She pondered on the scene and quickly came to a conclusion. She would speak were there any people around.

"Lotha knows this to be the work of a big bad wolf...A new bounty is afoot!~"

Vosirk Grandaxe reads of the slaughter safely within Kal'Omith, shaking his head, "Poor elger, dat 'es nae ah gud way tuh guh." The dwarf rises from his seat, deciding he might just make a trip into the elven forests to see if his axe could be of any help.

A certain Black Elf covered her mouth at spotting the remains, her hand shook. After regaining her state of mind, she turned on her heel exiting the assumed crowd.

"Poor Mali.. I can only hope it was no one I knew."

Tuvehneon would shrug, continuing to shuffle his deck passively in thought, before at length saying "Better them than me." and would stride away from the poster, seemingly content with shuffling his deck and counting the few coins in his coinpurse.

Athrel Aureon, Cleric Apprentice, Husband, Father, sometime wanderer, found himself visiting Ker'nor that day. He didn't know the family, who did? But he knew it might have been his own. He listened to the comments of strangers and felt nothing beyond pity for the family and sorrow for the commentators. He began a quest, one that took him many weeks, searching out any who might have known the odd trio... To his shame and regret, his quest proved a failure.

His quest wasn't completely in vain, however, and he was seen again in Ker'nor. On the grave of the unknown family he lay three relics of their life, worthless to any save perhaps this family. A wooden coin, bitten in half, once worn as a necklace it seemed, a broken dagger of sub-standard iron, and a child's drawing of the family were all the legacy he could find... but they would have a name. With the help of a friend, a stone was made: This family died honorably, the epitaph read. Above a simple name, a family name... an elven name: Aureon. He was certain his father would approve.

Khiara Aureon runs to her KerWolf Moon to ensure her long time companion still loved her. She seems at ease as the wolf does indeed love her and curls up around her. The pair sleep for a few hours.
