The Gauntlet Has Returned

Today, after days of building and hours of testing and fool-proofing, a race project is complete! And will be started on the 20th of January when a portal is set up at spawn.

This race is not for the faint of heart and should be done under the knowledge that you WILL spend a long time completing it.

 

Now that all of that is out of the way, here are the details of the maze.

• 3 sections, End Rod Maze Parkour, Slow Parkour (Soulsand on top of Ice), and Barrier Parkour.
• Old Dark Souls style checkpoints for the second and final section, meaning if you fall it will punish your attempt at being first place
• No PvP, this means that PvP is disabled inside of the course, apologies to the PvPers that were thinking that they'd get to kill people.

 

The rewards are as follows:

1st Place: 50$ (In Crowns), 2 Skill Tomes of your choice, a Diamond Block Trophy, and 3000 Minas.

2nd Place: 30$ (In Crowns), 1 Skill Tome of your choice, Gold Block Trophy, and 2000 Minas.

3rd Place: 20$ (In Crowns), Iron Block Trophy, and 1000 Minas.

 

Once the 3 winners are named, you will be contacted by Beautilicious/Evocress who is giving the VIP Crowns away as one of the rewards.

 

The rules:

• No using racial bonuses (such as the Kha jump boost).
• No using Profession bonuses (an example is the grapling hook for fishers).
• No hacked clients (Pretty given, as it can get you banned).

There should be at least a GM or event team member watching over the event, including me so going against these rules can be punishable.

This was completely created by the players, not by any admin... the admins only allowed for it to happen. And the gauntlet has been part of LOTC since Aegis.

I created this event as I donate 100$ to the server each year, as I am Aether VIP I do not need to do that anymore so I wanted to give back to the players. In a fun type of event that'll be also difficult. 

 

It's not the admins/GM's doing. It's mine, so you're welcome for a PLAYER setting up an event FOR the PLAYERS of the server to spark excitement and get rewarded for being ON the SERVER.

Will things like racial speed perks be intact when doing the parkour?

They should be, yes. But please do not use the Kha racial or Dark elf racial to get an upper hand in the parkour.

As i've tried and worked with eliminating any fool proof tactics such as these racial perks. I believe they wouldn't be much of an issue, due to the height of the map. Anyone found abusing these would possibly get the same treatment as others have in the past.
