DEFINITIONS

 

What is roleplaying?:

Roleplaying is the act of taking on the personality of a specific character that is different from one’s self and acting out the life of that character.

 

What is metagaming?:

Metagaming is the use of knowledge obtained outside of character in character when in fact that character would have no idea about this information.
An example of this would be if a friend messages you that they are being robbed on the road and you rush to their aid, despite your character not having a way to know of the robbery.

 

What is power-emoting (powergaming)?:

Powergaming is the unfair action of forcing an effect on someone else's character instead of allowing them a proper chance to react and/or stretching the strength of a character beyond that which is possible/probable

Biography  (Please make it a decent two paragraphs long. Remember to add three
references to the server lore.):

Ecaris was born in Felsen during the war between humans and dwarves. At the time the Dark Elf capital was destroyed, so most of her kin found refuge elsewhere. Her mother worked as a Doctor in Felsen, her father was a stone mason for the city as well. Her childhood was a mostly happy one, she spent much of her time learning stone masonry from her father, while her brother learned medical practices from their mother. While she was not helping her father, she could be found playing with the Alvius siblings, high elves that where around her age. Ecaris was often found arguing with the sister, and the two have a love hate relationship to this day.
Once the war was over, and Ecarcis was old enough to venture out on her own, she began exploring Vailor. She wandered for years before coming to kal'ordholm. She came across the keep of the Crimson Edict met an elf named Casca who persuaded her to join after she too care of  Ecaris following a wolf attack. However she could not join as she was too young. Unable to join the Crimson Edict, she set out in the world to develop a skill of her own. First she attempted to join the paladins, however as she was terrible at any form of combat she did not. Later she realized that she was deeply interested in why things worked, and was drawn to tinkering. After much experimentation she began to teach herself the basics, though most of her knowledge is rudimentary. Over time she improved and is okay at tinkering, despite never having any formal training. She generally avoids large cities, especially where humans gather as she has been targeted in many cities for being an elf. One of the most notable occasions of this is shortly before leaving Felsen. She was attacked by a group of humans who stole nearly everything she had and cut off her hair, which at the time was long and reminiscent of her mother's. Other notable encounters were with the Uzg slavers, which made her distrust the orcs. Though she was never enslaved, there have been few cases where she almost was.

 

Personality Traits: Ecarcis is impulsive and eager to please her higher ups. She is also adventurous and closed off from people.

 

Ambitions: Wants to learn some magic at some point. She also wishes to join the Crimson Edict.

 

Strengths/Talents: She is an okay tinker, but she has no other major talents.

 

Weaknesses/Inabilities: she is very bad with combat, and she considers her impulsiveness as one of her weakness because more often than not her choices are wrong.
