What is roleplaying?: Roleplaying is acting in a character that is not yourself. Thinking and performing tasks in the state of mind of whatever  character you are roleplaying is essential.

What is metagaming?: Metagaming is the use of outside sources to assist you in-game. Teamspeak and Skype are two such examples of outside sources used to gain said knowledge.

What is power-emoting (powergaming)?: Power-emoting is emoting unrealistically in roleplay. In other words, emoting something that is beyond your character’s abilities and unfair to other player in game.

 

In-Character Information

Now you actually make your character - be creative but stay reasonable! Make sure they make sense and that they follow lore. Try to come up with a character that you actually want to play.

Biography  (Please make it a decent two paragraphs long. Remember to add three references to the server lore): (where does your character come from?; where have they traveled to?; what year were they born in? et cetera.) Ulhart was a young dwarf born to the Grandaxe clan and lived with his family for his childhood and up until he became an adult dwarf. When he became an adult he did not have the heart for battle as other Grandaxes, and instead joined the workforce as an honest Lumberjack. Eventually when his home in Kal’Arkon was destroyed and the clan was forced to Athera, where he then lived in Kal’Agnar and worked as a Lumberjack until it fell to the Undead and he was forced to flee North to Hiebenhall. There he lived as a refugee until the dwarven legion marched south to retake Kal’Agnar, and he marched with them. He was in central army lead by the Grand King and the Emperor of Oren when they came upon the city, already reconquered from the flanking force.

The when Kal’Karaad was built Ulhart became a miner for the Grand Kingdom and sought to bring himself great wealth. After the fall of Athera he left the dwarves to seek fortune elsewhere as a miner and remained separate from his kin for many years. Eventually in Axios he got a letter from the Clan Father Fimlin Grandaxe, asking him to return to the Kingdom and so he answered the call.

 

Personality Traits: (what are your character's quirks?; habits?; likes and dislikes?): Ulhart favors long trips into the mines to clear his mind. The sound of his pick striking against the stone soothes his nerves. While Ulhart abstains from drinking for the most part, he will never decline the opportunity to have a good time with fellow mountain dwarves. Other than mining and adventuring with fellow mountain dwarves, Ulhart enjoys intent study of alchemy, long walks across the kingdom, and profiting from his said adventures.

 

Ambitions: (what does your character aspire to be?) Ulhart aspires to be the most profitable and respected miner in all of Urguan. His desire for the rarest gems and the money to come drives his work forth into the deepest mines that Urguan has to offer. Ulhart’s other aspiration is alchemy; his thirst for knowledge in the subject never ceases and will forever grow until he believes he is fit to carry the title of master alchemist.  

 

Strengths/Talents: (what is your character really, really good at?) Ulhart has an excellent ability in mining and alchemy. His knowledge of the mines and the studies of alchemy has allowed him to become well versed in the subjects.

 

Weaknesses/Inabilities: (what is a skill that your character needs to work on?): Ulharts speed and inability to ride mounts is a significant disadvantage. His lack of a heart for battle also affects his attitude towards conflicts of any kind.

 

Appearance: (what does your character look like?; how tall are they?; hair color?; scars?)- Reddish-orange hair, brown eyes, muscular and lighter-skinned.
