Though then again the one I was involved in was more "hey don't do that" slap on the wrist kind of stuff at worst, so I doubt that was the reason why Sky was removed, unless it wasn't the only one around. The point of anonymous staff reports is to remain anonymous, but I guess since everyone's so upset I should at least say something.

 

Why did you bother reporting him if it was "slap on the wrist" kind of thing? That's like filling out a ban report and then being surprised if the person actually gets banned. 

Why not just actually have talked to Sky over what offended you?

It doesn't cut it. Most of the ET will agree sky has been one of the best ET leads for a long while. Now why was he removed? Why? Not sure. 'Communication issues?' I don't see Telanir communicating with us much (No hard feelings m'potato Telanir), most my further arguments on this side were summed up by Jaeden when he posted the following:

Yeah. We don't like it, stop. You feel fine and dandy with altering our teams and leads but as those in power you don't change after heaps of criticism or hate. I suppose you don't realise your actions half the time.. or your statements. Oops, yeah, I've been told about how admins have loopholed their own powerful statements before, “the admins are sorta like a council and majority rules blah blah.” Only to later say something like; “We can make our own decisions on matters.” Excuse me, what?

 

Bring back Sky, we like him.

Just wanted to comment, why does reporting it over Skype make a difference what so ever? Someone is taking evidence for a report and submitting it to an administrator - what is wrong with that? I'm sure they'd do what any sane person would do and link it to the rest of the Admin chat so they could review it in full.

Why are staff reports anonymous tbh. They should be treated and dealt with like any other 'normal' player. That way people can actually defend themselves and/or give an explanation.

Involved still means he could have talked to Sky over it or told the person who filed the report, if it wasn't him, to talk to Sky first.

They are there to make sure players are not attacked over a report if it contains sensitive information etc.

 

I personally would like a public form of staff report to be available, and to save the anon. one for when it's something that will garner harassment and hostility towards the person reporting.

Since when is asking a question suddenly piling on him? I didn't even phrase it in a harsh way. I'm honestly wondering why something he himself called minor would be turned into an anonymous staff report and asked for clarification. I've not even dealt with Gallic or seen him around for months now so if anyone needs to get over themselves its you buddy. Trying to make trouble where there isn't any. 

 

Oh and anyone who knows me knows that I was mad at Sky for quite a long time and wasn't talking to him until recently. So the whole 'good natured friend' bit? Rather out of place there since I still barely talk to Sky something he can confirm himself. Not sure why you even brought up Zer0 there either.

It's because if the player that reported the staff member had the staff member's PEX revoked some members of the community might harass them. There's also the other possibility that the staff member will target the player that made the staff report. For example, if a staff member cybered and then hid his cyber logs and then I found proof of it, then I would have to file a staff report. If that staff member knew I had his PEX removed he could target me on skype or even go as far as to ridicule me. If the staff report were false or had a lack of proof, then I would be targeted and attacked for submitting it. The player needs to be anonymous to prevent targeting.

Yeesh, why can't we all just be transparent friendos? We're all dorks playing on the same Mineman Roleplay server with all similar goals to have a chill time together as a community. Sucks that these types of threads were super common last year and will probably also be this year.

I just want to hear staff reasoning. I'm sure they had reasoning, maybe it was good or maybe it was bad.... I can't know. I'd like to at least hear something, though! My personal experiences with staff have always been professional, even when it didn't favor me. I'd just like to see that it's the same of Sky. The man's been a friend and I have few enough of those in the world.

As they handle management the same way a business would, they have every freedom to let someone go if they're within a trial period. Anonymity of staff reports is vital so that reports will continue to be made by the community. As soon as you remove their protection you remove a large chunk of people willing to make a report.

 

To be frank I see nothing wrong in the administration responding to a trial period with "sorry it isn't going to work out". Because all is voluntary here there should be an increased sensitivity towards your 'employees', but if in the end they can operate with whatever grace or firmness they so desire.

In real life, this happens. If they don't like you, you get cut. Especially this post I think, its an act of skys character, showing that maybe, just maybe. Hes not fit to be lead or staff.
