The Black Legion

“Bloodlust. Savagery. War.” - Words of the Black Legion

Background

Upon returning to the War Nation of Krugmar and rebirthing the Braduks, Mundusgoth of the Braduk clan and favoured son of Enrohk, Black-Kahn’Braduk charged his second; Ghazkoth’Braduk – Warmachine of the Braduk clan, to create an elite combat force in the Uzg. Thusly, at the behest of Black-Kahn, Ghazkoth created the Black Legion.

The Black Legion is an independent military force that answers only to the Mundusgoth. It serves as not only his personal guard – his Kheshig, but primarily as a special forces unit and vanguard in his warband. However, the legion is not restricted to the will of the Mundusgoth, and again operates as an independent warband. The Commander of the Black Legion, Ghazkoth’Braduk has authority tantamount to a Targoth over the legion, and the Mundusgoth that of the Rex. Orcs of status outside the legion have no authority within, and henceforth cannot command a soldier of the legion.

 The Legion

The Black Legion is made up Orcs of all clans and codes, who have become devotees to Enrohk and Leyd; the spirits of war and strength respectively. This results in warriors of the legion having a high talent for violence, making them a group to be feared – and with the previous Wargoth and favoured son of Leyd Ghazkoth’Braduk as their commander, and the avatar of Enrohk Black-Kahn’Braduk at their head, the legion is proving to be a ghastly addition to the War Nation. Black-Kahn currently wields the sword of Enrohk – War Maker, as well as the blood armour of Enrohk. Ghazkoth bares the armour of Leyd.

Those who join the legion must undergo a devotion ritual in which they will be blessed by a spirit of their choosing. Should they choose Enrohk, they will receive the blessing of heightened bloodlust – their rage will forever go unsatisfied, and their sheer malice and brutality in combat unbridled. If a warrior chooses Leyd, then they will be blessed with heightened pain tolerance meaning that whilst the body registers pain, the Orc does not feel it.

Spoiler

Known for their fearlessness in combat, and ‘first in, last out’ attitude, warriors of the Black Legion follow a brutal and bloody doctrine. Few can boast surviving a successful encounter with the legion, for they are known for simply sweeping through battlements and wiping the enemy away. They are not above sparing lives however, as in addition to acting as a savage vanguard the legion also carries out political missions and varying acts of espionage.

Structure

The Black Legion serves as the personal guard to the Mundusgoth of the Braduk clan, Black-Kahn’Braduk. They answer solely to him. As the legion operates within the Uzg, members are honourbound to respect the War Nation’s hierarchy, however the word of the Mundusgoth overrules all others.

Commander of the Black Legion

Ghazkoth’Braduk, “Last Giant” and War Machine of the Braduk clan rules with an iron fist as the commander of the legion. Sadistic and cruel, the former embodies what it means to be a soldier of the Black Legion better than no other. He is also a favoured son of Leyd – proving his strength, dominance and valor in combat many times over throughout his many years. All members of the legion answer to the commander and fall to his command. Disobedience is punishable by death in the form of a sacrifice.

Champions of the Legion

Those who prove themselves as valued additions to the Black Legion will ascend to the seat of champion. All brothers and sisters must respect them for their appeasement to the spirits has been immense.

Members of the Legion

Members of the Black Legion come from all clans and levels in Orcish society. Joining the legion does not apostate Orcs from their previous ties, - for example; A Gorkil Orc is still a member of the Gorkil clan despite being a member of the Black Legion. Depending on which spirit an Orc chooses to devote themselves to, they will be placed into one of the two following regiments.

Bloodletters

A Bloodletter of the Black Legion is a devotee of Enrohk. Blessed with a heightened bloodlust they harness their rage in combat to annihilate their enemy, claiming the lives of any who are worthy to be sent to Enrohk. The first champion of the Bloodletters regiment is bestowed with the blood-axe ‘Gore’, a serrated axe imbued with a blessing from Enrohk.

Fists of War

A Fist of War, or Fist of the Black Legion is a devotee to Leyd. Blessed with the ability to not feel pain, they continue to fight when all others have collapsed from exhaustion, showing that their strength is unmatched. The first champion of the Fists of War regiment is bestowed with the hammer ‘Fist of Leyd’, a tremendously sized war-hammer imbued with a blessed from Leyd.

Traits

Soldiers of the Black Legion will paint half of their face in black to signify their allegiance. It is not uncommon for them to cover more of their body in black, nor is it uncommon for them to adorn themselves in marking or tattoos to signify which spirit they are aligned to.

Bloodletters will often adorn themselves in the skulls and bones of the fallen, and on some occasions, wear the flesh of their enemies. Fists of War on the other hand, typically will expose their torso and arms to display their hulking physiques so that all may know of their strength.

Ok, I was going to edit out the comment since I don't want even to think about the possibility of a warning, but the forums need a bit of fixing... @Lyonharted™
