What’s the rule you agree with the most?:

"Proper rp is required before PvP can be called. The roleplay must be initiated and properly advance to conflict before it goes to PvP." Well keelhaul me and call me Captain Morgan I am so glad that this exists. I like how it puts some sort of check on PVP and personal experience makes my backing of this rule even stronger.

 

Are there any rule(s) that confuse you or don’t make sense? (if so we can help clear it up!):

"Running from roleplay using MC mechanics is not allowed unless PVP combat has been chosen as a form of combat to be used, and it is done following a proper countdown. If a player runs from roleplay, the other side may PvP him and is under no obligation to revive him. The person running may also face punishment. Note that yelling "Halt" is not valid rp to initiate PvP. If they don't stop to respond, you cannot give chase with PvP." So does this mean that combat must be seen through to the end by both sides and no retreat can be called unpunished?

 

How did you find out about Lord of the Craft?:

I got added to a group chat on skype titled "Random LOTC Chat" by some of my old buddies today and didn't know what it meant. I googled LOTC and here I am.

Definitions

 

What is roleplaying?: Roleplaying is the act of acting, behaving, and or being a character separate from yourself as an individual. You play as a person who is different from you and interact with others as that character.

What is metagaming?: Meta gaming is the act of using OOC (Out of character) info to gain an advantage IC (in character). An example could be player A found out about an attack on his town was imminent after sneaking into his enemies discord server.

What is power-emoting (powergaming)?: Power gaming is the act of simply making your character overpowered. You give it unrealistic attribute (impervious to damage, can hold breath forever, etc.) in which the character does not seem to be bound by lore or rules.

 

In-Character Information
Now you actually make your character - be creative but stay reasonable! Make sure they make sense and that they follow lore. Try to come up with a character that you actually want to play.

Character’s age: (upon application, your character must be 18 or older, and depending on the race, they can be over five hundred years old!) 22.

Biography  (Please make it a decent two paragraphs long. Remember to add three references to the server lore): (where does your character come from?; where have they traveled to?; what year were they born in? et cetera.)

Born in 1582, Charon lived in a small port town in the southern end of the now Kingdom of Courland that was a host to many people and many people of different species. Charon had worked on his fathers vessel the Meridian  and learned literature from his mother. He began working on the boat at the age of 10 and even learned how to maintain and operate a ship from his father. Charon eventually was able to attend the festivals the town would have by the ports. People would have a great time and Charon would always want to hear the sailors stories. He even was able to meet some people of th other species.  Charon began  At the age of 11, Charon's father was recruited for the war against the Holy Orenian Empire, led by the Kingdom of Courland. During this time, Charon would visit the library after sailing under captain Garalith as a spotter for schools of fish. At the age of 12 he learned of his father going missing during the war. 

After the news of his fathers disappearance, Charon's mother was in agony and Charon was depressed. He performed his activities with less enthusiasm, but Garalith, now a friend, comforted him. Giving him assistance and helping to take care of his mother. Eventually he met Farland at the age of 17, a dwarf who told Charon about the war. He said how he and his friends and claimed vengeance for Algoda who had been captured and killed, and also informed Charon of the dissolution of the Holy Orenian Empire. Farland explained the matter to Charon, explaining the intricate politics in a way Charon could understand. At the age of 20 Charon had two jobs in order to take care of himself and his mother. Garalith still assisted them and continued to be the captain of the Meridian. Charon now wished to see the world and saved up for his own ship. All he had to do was wait. 

Personality Traits: (what are your character's quirks?; habits?; likes and dislikes?) Charon is social, generally happy but is well aware of the dangers of the world. He is interested in history and storytelling, as well as sailing and is saving up for his own ship. He doesn't like big cities and would prefer to stay by the coast.

Ambitions: (what does your character aspire to be?) He wishes to have his own crew and learn more about the people who built the ancient ruins scattered around the isles. 

Strengths/Talents: (what is your character really, really good at?) Good at sailing, reading, writing, and fishing. 

Weaknesses/Inabilities: (what is a skill that your character needs to work on?) Fighting, Charon isn't a big fighter but thinks it wouldn't hurt to get better.

Appearance: (what does your character look like?; how tall are they?; hair color?; scars?) White, eyes are a greyish green, 5ft and 5in, wears a leather jacket and a stripped undershirt. His hair is brown and he is well built.
